So my 2008 w 157k miles started having some strange issues:

Vehicle would start then immediately shut off. Wouldn’t start again unless I disconnected the battery and let it sit for a few minutes then it would start right up. Totally intermittent.

My Pioneer 8600 would disconnect and not reconnect unless I shut the truck off and restarted it. Also the volume would intermittently get loud and inaudible for no reason.

I couldn’t figure out what was going on with it and none of it seemed related. I was considering trading it in. This went on for 6-8 months. On a whim I used my spare key. It hasn’t happened again and it’s been several months. I can only assume that the immobilizer is going out on what was my primary key. So, if you’re having strange electrical issues try and swap the key
