Hey y’all, I own a 2021 SR5. Anyways, it seems like every time I get done with a drive, while getting out of the truck. I get a light shock when my arm rubs the truck while getting out. Anyone else experiencing this? Could it be a grounding issue?

    It’s static electricity. Pretty common.

Lucky for me here in MIA it usually isn’t cold much so my shocks are limited. And now that I have Katzkin leather, it’s even better. The fluffy blankets do hold a lot of static, f&@?!k.

    Too many, but not enough....
I have an sr5 with cloth seats, I find that if I slide out the truck rather than step out with my sliders I'll get a zap now and again.

Move to Houston. The problem will go away. Then you can slide out however you want.

When I lived in the mid west it was terrible. You just knew getting out of the vehicle your ass was gonna get lit up. Was just like on that movie office space. Haha.

or put one of those dangly, rear bumper ground straps on it...like the work trucks that enter the refining/chemical plants.

    that'll fix all the static.

Happened all the time in my old Tahoe. I got in the habit of grounding the key to an exposed screw head in the door jamb after I got out before I grabbed the handle to close the door.

You can also get a can of static guard and just reapply to seat as needed if it is bothering you that much.

I have the same issue. It’s a decent shock too. I’m in Kentucky where we have higher humidity than temperatures.
Leather seats. Always happens when I’m exiting the vehicle.

I get them occasionally during the winter with cloth seats, when it’s dry out, I think the type of shoes I’m wearing at the time has some effect on it as well
