Aftermarket TPMS sensor for 2022 Tundra

I plan to put a set of new tires and wheels on the Tundra, but I also want to keep the OEM tires and wheels with the stock TPMS in them. The OEM TPMS is $450 for a set of 4 and I've seen aftermarket ones for under $150 for the set.

Any of you guys use aftermarket TPMS on your new set of tires and wheels? Are these aftermarket TPMS reliable or problematic? Should I just use the OEM part and be done with it. LOL. Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

There are generic sensors that need to be programmed with specific vehicle info and ones that are pre-programed. The ones above are pre-programed. Had the tire shop mount and install the wheels. Went into the vehicle settings and started the TPMS relearn procedure. Went for a 45 mile drive and was somewhat disappointed that the tire pressures never came up during the drive. But shut the truck off and everything was good the next time I started it. Supposedly it takes 15 miles or so for the truck to relearn then new sensors. I was hoping that after 15 miles it would show the pressures, but apparently the vehicle needs to restart after learning the new sensors. Anyways, $138 for the sensors and black valve stems was way better than the dealership pricing.

 

I'll definitely give them a shot. If they perform like the OEM ones, then 1/4 the cost is a great bargain.

I run them on my winter tires. Works great for me. I did buy a programmer to clone my OEM set. No need to program them into the truck each time I change them. Just need to position relearn as you would do after a rotation.

So that puts you at $350 total which is pretty darn close to what one would pay for an OEM set.

True but I have TWO sets. One set for summer tires and one set for winter tires. Once programed I could have sold the programmer on EBay to recoup some cost. Then in 4-5 years (when they start dying) I would replace them all and buy another programmer then sell it after programming. Wash, Rinse, Repeat ... But I kept the programmer to also manage my wife's Titan.

So I went ahead as the guinea pig. Ordered a set of Huf sensors from tpms.com and everything came out to be a little over $100.
After mounting them up and doing the relearn through the dash they didn't register after a drive, as mentioned by others... but the next morning everything started working and each wheel pressure came up. Very happy in the end. Here's a pic of my new winter set:

Thanks for being the Guinea pig. I am waiting on a set of wheels and they are trying to upsell me a set of sensors with the wheels ($180). I wanted to stick with OEM until I priced them. Plan A was to have the OEM sensors removed and reinstalled in the new wheels, but that sounds like a pain and I would just like to remove and replace the stock wheels and tires with aftermarket. I don't plan to keep the stock wheels/tires so it would save some $$ to reuse them, but these sensors for the price are what I am looking for.

 

By any chance do u remember the re-learning procedure. I did order the same huff TMPS from the webpage. I just can’t see where to start with the re-learn. Help will be much appreciated thank you

 

Use the controls on the left side of your wheel to scroll over to the settings page (the icon looks like a gear) then go down to the vehicle settings option. Push the ok button and hold for a second to get into the options page. Then scroll down to the TPWS setting. Then go down to "identify each wheel and position" Push ok and hold for a second to start the relearn process.

That's how it works on my SR5, dunno about models with the higher level instrument displays, but I would assume that it's similar.

Any luck with these registering the tire pressure? After doing the aforementioned identify each wheel and position it just stays on that screen. Tire shop is attempting to sort it out but so far no luck.
No traction control whole it’s in this state which is not ideal for heading to the ski hill.

 

It looks like the website has 2 HUF sensors listed for the Tundra. Which set did you order?
