    Is the 2nd gen door speaker set up like the 2.5 gen where the doors are 'woofers'? Any loss of sound levels as far as volume?

    For what it's worth, I bought an Alpine 445u and a harness from AutoHarnessHouse. Complete plug and play and sounds awesome for what I wanted.

    Yes that is helpful. Would you say it made a big difference vs being driven off the head unit?

    Excellent. I think that was the push I needed. The speakers get plenty loud right now off the head unit but don't seem to have the clarity I was looking for. (Sorry for hijacking your thread).

    No worries, Glad i could help. I found the best deal to be Amazon. I tried to get Crutchfield to price match, they said "pack sand"
