Kenwood 1057/1037 in a second gen install info request

I just got a 1057 and watched videos about installing it that show numerous orientation possibilities, in towards the dash/ away from the dash and up/down for the screen.

I looked for installs in a 2007-13 and it seems all of the threads are '14+

I have a 2nd gen Sequoia and plan on installing it next week and am hoping for an idea of how far in/out/up/down I need to be.

I know JVC bought Kenwood & that that is basically the same, I like the volume knob & got a great deal on the Kenwood or I'd have the JVC.

Also, what's the deal with that corner of the AC panel? Every tundra/Sequoia I have ever seen has that white scuff.

The ac panel is the reflection since it’s pretty glossy. No white stuff in person.
I left it at the factory setting. How it came.
