So before I got on a crusade with my dealership I want to make sure I get my facts straight. My impression was if you got the TRD OR package, in my case on a limited, that the skid plate was a TRD skid plate. Below is what’s under my truck. Am I wrong or am I missing a skid plate.

PS, if what is pictured is a skid plate it’s the shittiest skid plate created.

That's what you're supposed to get. "Ballistic nylon" or something like that they call it. The nice aluminum plate that says TRD you have to buy as an additional accessory.

Ok. Glad I asked. Guess I’ll be on the hunt for a skid plate. Your right, the one there now won’t protect anything.

I haven't bought one yet, but will be looking at aftermarket options since the TRD branded one doesn't have an access door for oil changes. Have to drop the whole plate.

The only reason why I bought a TRD plate for my old 2017 Tundra is b/c of the access "door" for oil changes.
The only reason why I'm not buying a TRD plate for my 2022 Tundra is b/c there now is no access "door" for oil changes.

745FB04F-6BF6-4A0E-8887-202EDCDA7222.jpg I had the same question with my TRD Off-road Limited. I thought the dealership had forgotten to install the TRD skid plate. What Toyota ships as a “skid plate” (the plastic POS) is an embarrassment and shouldn’t be listed as skid in the sales literature. I am currently in the process of installing my TRD skid plate, I’m really impressed with it so far, appearance and quality. Granted it does not have an oil plate access section. However as I’m installing it together with a Talon cat shield, I’m in love with the looks of the pair together. PS I had to snap off and sand a hook that was protruding from the TRD skid, that got in the way of the Talon and wouldn’t allow a flush fit of the plate
