But, if your question is sincere... It's pretty much what you'd think. Dog goes to vet/facility, someone gloves up, dog gets a happy ending, semen is collected and transferred to "sticks" or "straws", straw is then frozen and stored. Semen sticks are then sold/used by anyone wanting to use that dog's DNA; they ship too!!!!

Real simple... At one point I had wanted to preserve the genetic lineage of one of my dogs for potential future breeding. Did a little research and found out about the storage facility in Oregon (lived in Vegas at the time). However, a bit more research into breeding (specifically line breeding), and I quickly discovered that I had absolutely no business trying to do something that folks w/decades of experience struggle to do properly/ethically. Therefore I chose to abandon the idea and did not pursue it any further.
