Odd topic, but according to my iPhone (connected to our '22 4Runner), we were from last Friday a.m. to Saturday p.m. LOL

If you wonder what the hell I'm talking about, for those of you who use CarPlay, bring up Apple Maps on the truck's sound system screen. If you're on what I call the 'Overview' (where it shows the entire route from beginning to end), you'll see that little blue pointer signifying the vehicle.

We left Destin, FL last Friday and went to Chattanooga; and then from Chattanooga to mid-Missouri Saturday. The entire freaking time, the blue pointer pointed the *opposite* direction we were driving, as if I were driving backwards.

I've searched elsewhere but most threads think it's an orientation issue. I know how to change the orientation. If I change the orientation to show the normal driving view (e.g., where it's oriented with respect to the direction I'm driving), the arrow points the correct way...but switch back to the overview, and I'm driving backwards again. LOL

Anyone got a clue? I'm at a loss.

your vehicle was probably made in the southern hemisphere....making it reversed direction. kind of like the toilets flushing in the opposite direction.

ok, but really....only thing i could think of was that you're destination was put in as your starting point, so it showed opposite direction. or the orientation of you driving one direction and it was constantly pointing in the "north" orientation. thats my only true thoughts. i don't have apple, but i'll check with android auto out of curiosity.

Well, I mean, I did what I normally do - search for the destination, click the 'directions' button, then click "Go" (it auto-sources the starting point).

Yeah, when I orient it as showing the direction I'm going, the arrow points straight 'up.' When I orient it in the overview, it shows that I'm proceeding along the path...but pointed backwards. LOL

(Just kidding; I've owned both. I actually like the idea of Androids better but litreally everyone I've ever owned has been unreliable as hell, and much like Toyotas, I don't need all the features...I just need the ones I have to work reliably....and for the phone to not break on me. LOL)

    Appreciate it!

The only issues I've had with any of my Androids is they don't always stand up to real world stress testing, even with Otterbox cases. However, I suspect Apple would be even worse in that regard.

Mine haven't. I mean, I've dropped mine on pavement, face down....and nary a scratch. The only time mine ever cracked was when I ran over it with my Tundra (accidentally lol) but the screen still worked.

Not sure how Apple cult maps worms, but mine has a button to push that changes the viewing that changes accordingly. Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, just passing along.
    P.S....I have a 2021 sequoia pro
