Does this feel low? Truck has 6,800 miles. No mods . No damage. Perfect. Trying to get into a new pro. I should just wait it’s impossible.

It is low in this period of high auto prices for an almost new Pro with less than 10,000 miles. The dealer is trying to maximize their profits.

Definitely low, try other dealers. I'd push for 60. You know they will still list it for at least 70 these days

first photo is book values, second is auction transaction...thats the only one that matters because a book can say anything whether its low or high but auction is what dealers have written checks for. 11 days ago one with 77,189 miles brought $52600.00 they are lowballing the shit out of you. You didnt get that info from me though lol. They will easily get $60K plus for that truck at the auction, I understand wanting to be a little lower than that because the auction is nuts and they might want to retail it and their market might not handle that price but worst case...trade for it and take it directly to auction and cash out.

tell him you will sell it to another dealer that offered you more but youll buy their truck straight out...believe me someone will pay you good money for it. Dont stick to Toyota dealers, we know what the cost new invoice and MSRP....other stores dont. They might pay more, shop it around

52k is fair only if they are giving you 8k off of something that normally doesn’t get discounted.

I mean - realistically a buyer would pay between 65-68k for that truck. Yes - prices fluctuate and when gas spikes it hurts big trucks - but that is stupid low.

Trading up to 22 - I mean the base price is already inflated - is it in stock ? If so - they know what they have and know if you don’t take it - someone will at a market adjusted price likely. So if price they are quoting is sticker with no market adjustment that’s how they are using the fuzzy math to support giving you such a “good deal”.

If ordering or they are adding a market adjustment- 52k is just plain robbery.

Here is the thing, we as a dealer hate to pay more for something used than we sold it for new. We, as all sales, are supposed to buy low and sell high but the market is completely upside down right now. Just like the new car market and pricing is being set by dealers and can hold firm on them, the same goes for owners of nice used cars. You guys are in the drivers seat with them because they are worth more now than they ever have been or ever will be. We are getting more for new cars than normal so to be fair at all buyers need to get their fair share of it back when they trade in. Dealers trying to get it both ways are only screwing themselves. You should off set most of if not all of the price increase by the increase in trade values right now

exactly, and lets be real....people buying a Tundra arent people that are watching gas prices like most buyers. We all know thats one of the thirstiest trucks on the road. Tundra sales havent slowed down for us because of gas. And yes, market adjustment AND holding back on trades is BS...customer has to win somewhere and get to cover some of it not all of the adjusted new price

    Good questions!

the truck is in route to be there mid September. They have like 10k of bull shizzz markups and add ons. So yes this is an absolutely terrible deal!
I’m in California and still this offer/deal is just terrible. Honestly probably just better to ride this out until 2024.

Ok - yea, it’s a tough time to buy - but realistically ANYTIME is tough to buy a Pro on the lot historically.

It’s been order and wait, get lucky or pay through the nose a few years now.

Having a Pro stop deal sweetens the swap for a dealer. I mean clean used is as tight of a supply as a 2022 new. Soon we will be talking 2023s.

I’d personally wait till 2023 - I just can’t see overpaying just to have a 22. I doubt the market drops dramatically - but you might see some of the add ons coming down. Until then enjoy owning a 2021.

What's the difference in the 8CY/A and the 8G/A under the engine column? I thought all the Pros were all the same, which they are on your list except that top one from Portland.

...and thanks for helping some of the guys out w/numbers on a couple of these transactions. It helps balance some of the silliness in today's market.

You should probably walk away from that deal - maybe run away from that deal…

Me personally, I don't like anything at all about the 2022. Overlooking that,, you have a Lunar Rock Pro which seems to me is a very rare find. I have yet to see a Lunar Rock in Tampa Bay. IMO I would keep it and enjoy it especially with the current market.

Too low. Take it to carmax and get an offer and use that for leverage.

With most of the dealers tacking on money you should tack on your market adjustment too! I would ask for 62,850.00 then deal from there!! I was going to trade in my truck and they only wanted to give me 40 told them I want a lot more, of course they said no so I left. Five minutes later they called me and told me they called there Toyota dealer and he put in a buy order and they would give me the money. I told them no and forget it cause I was almost home. Now when I trade I will even be asking for more!!! I’ll be asking for close to 60 for my truck and it’s not a pro!!:)

Here is my advice as a dealer. So they will have ZERO issue selling their TRD PRO to anyone so instead of trying to negotiate anymore on your trade, just say ok thanks. Then shop it around and sell it to someone else for what its really worth and buy their truck straight out. The ONLY reason I say that is so that you dont miss out on the new truck but you also dont give your trade away at their ridiculous offer. If youre in CA you will have no trouble at all getting all the money for that truck. Then its up to you if you tell them before the new one comes in that you sold your trade or if you just wait and show up to get the new one and let them know then. You gave the dealer a fair chance at getting yours on trade, it isnt your fault they didnt want to pay what its worth

Shoot me the VIN and miles in PM and I will help you out. Depending on the make and model I might need to know the trim as well...so like on Toyota whether its SR5, TRD Offroad, Limited, etc.

If you are considering trading for a 2022, I would keep your truck. I dont think they will have the major bugs worked out on the new model until 2024 and the 2021 design is solid.

Way too low, i was offered 63K for my 21 TRD PRO LR. Dont give in, as others have stated the dealer will sell for 65-70K all day. People are realizing the 2.5 Gen tundra is still better than the 22. My buddy traded his 21 PRO for a 22 1794 and already having issues with plastic bumpers, badging coming off and truck seals not properly installed. Aside from all the new tech, he regrets it.
