Hey everyone. I have a close friend who has a 2010 tundra (limited)
    He asked me about headlights….
I am a Tacoma guy and know the quirks about going from say sr5 to Trd headlights and such..
I figured it’s probably similar with his tundra in that only headlights of same trim package are use able (unless using a harness adapter )
I’ve been searching around here trying to figure out where he can get non Oem headlights that aren’t garbage, but also
Just plug an play , like what brands to avoid or which are good non oem. I hate jumping into a new thread I just haven’t a clue when it comes to tundras or their trim packages .
Thanks everyone , I really appreciate any info

Expensive but Morimoto XB's are at the top of the list. Stay away from the Alpharex stuff.

I have a 2010 myself and went with Morimotos. Expensive, yes, but you get a lot - plug and play with motors so you retain your factory beam adjustment, sequential turn signals, DRLs in your choice of white or amber. You may have to add resistors to avoid hyperflash, but that’s a very simple fix. If you can live with the price, I highly recommend them.

I think he would like to spend a little less than Oem price …. But like anything …. I’m thinking they are going to be higher cost no matter what lol

At least on the SR5s - not sure about other models. Stole this from a different thread:

I'm sure there are people selling their OEM ones if they replaced them.

A few... Definitely more than 2

This is a decent video of the action starting right about 2:00 mins
The OEM LEDs is a great option for 2014+ but for your buddies 2010 the only oem option is the sequoia headlights which is more involved and more pricey than even the morimotos.

Ah ok that masked sense … that’s a great idea … I guess important to make sure headlights will work with this if he wants to keep that function

These would look stellar on his 2010 and they include the filler panels needed for the retro fit.

All of the OEM lights I've seen don't have motors so I'm not sure if there are some that come with them

Headlight adjustment motors (and the switch on the dash) were part of the towing package if I am not mistaken.

They were a factory option, and certain aftermarket manufacturers like Morimoto, include motors to retain the factory function with your new brighter headlights.

    BTW, the Morimotos are sweet.

Morimotos are hard to beat, they are awesome. I do have a set of OEM headlights from a '12 limited, that have been fully resurfaced and polished, with the Sabre LED retrofit kit already installed from Toytech for sale in CO if he's looking for something cheaper.
