I’m in a private subdivision and we have individual sewerage treatment systems. What questions you got other than paint and what kind and how much paint are we talking?

Literally just paint. I've always just washed the brushes out in the sink. Everything I've read on septic systems is that's a nono as the enzymes won't break down any paint. Which will lead it to being in the tank forever. Just curious if anyone had a creative way of cleaning brushes and paint sprayers. Small amounts after painting rooms of the house really.

Are we talking Latex paint I assume? I have done it numerous times washing brushes in the laundry tub. I have also watched closely when my tanks are pumped and had a spray pump replaced once also (not cheap by the way.) Regardless, there was nothing in there on the sides of the tank after pumping other than shit and some bugs. No signs of any grease or paint or anything like that. The biggest thing Ive always tried to be careful about is not using large amounts of bleach in the laundry or sinks or for mopping, etc, and not using drain cleaner or things like that. They kill the bacteria in your tank and then nothing gets broken down properly.
Would this be something you do on a daily or regular basis? I will ask my septic guy. I know him well so can call him directly and ask specifics about it tomorrow. Also, is your system a sewerage treatment type? Im assuming so, I dont think a true septic is allowed by code anywhere anymore.

Yeah, we plan to do a bunch of landscaping next year. I let the yard go for the last few months since we'd be tearing it up with the deck build.

I'm no expert, but for brushes, I'm just using the sink. For sprayer, since it's more, I clean it using outside faucet. No bleach (only Oxi), and every couple months flush one of the septic enzymes to keep it boosted. Also, recently got a descaler (magnetically ionizes to prevent scale)...it seems to work, and we can use less detergents/soaps, keep those out.

Forward looking camera, Stub Antenna, 3M clearshield. A few other non lifted items.
We’ve been on septic systems for over 30 years now. We don’t do house paint brushes in our sinks nor buckets pans etc. if you have a septic system, you probably have a gravel or brush area. I clean the brushes with water on the gravel edge / brush. Paint rollers I just toss in the trash. Paint roller pans, clean or use a pan liner and let dry then toss out. If you need to use a pan or brush the next day, put in a plastic bag and close ends off. Keep in shade and cool area, pull out the next day. Rollers can be wrapped or tossed in the paint bucket. Professional painters put the rollers in the paint bucket for reuse days weeks later.
With all that being said, my wife is an artist and does clean her small artist equipment in the sink.

Oh, yeah, what WaTundra said...we wrap our brushes and rollers in plastic wrap during the job to minimize needing to clean. Only have to clean when finished or changing colors.

    Careful.

Thanks @Squatting Pigeon for suggesting a cheap paint sprayer. This is going 10x faster now with this Avanti sprayer from Harbor Freight. My next project is tackling the hideous garage floor.

Tell me about it! My retaining wall and driveway was around 16k and then the washer went up. Another $2500 later we have a washer and dryer coming in 2 weeks. Thankfully we didn’t have finance anything. I’m down to 20k left to pay on the Tundra and plan to pay it off before the end of year, as long as something else doesn’t come up between now and then.

Funny thing is, we just got back from an 11 day vacation to Nashville and Clearwater. Thankfully the airfare, hotels/resorts, rental car costs were covered by the points I had accumulated so the only out of pocket expense was food.

Finally got around to removing the in ground pool and concrete around it. After 7 loads with a 16 ft dump trailer. This was the stopping point for today.

Getting closer to being done. This past week I was running loads of fill dirt to raise up the grade in the back yard. I lost count at 25 loads and I still need a bit more (like 40 more).

In this first picture, I cleared out the materials at a landscaping lot.
    4BDC225E-9574-4F07-A156-4A5662936644.jpg A58B4F5A-1E20-4F44-BC45-F1B372FCDD82.jpg 31771242-FA8A-4ED2-B1BE-AB2CB765D053.jpg

First we installed a French drain around the foundation, then placed the boulders I got for my wife on Valentine’s Day last year during the cold spell/blizzard we had.
    AC810B06-23E9-4B43-9ABB-FE973A4E9A63.jpg E059C7FD-1914-4F35-AFFD-3B657F50E1E1.jpg C5717D40-0762-477C-BF89-BBC34374DA1B.jpg

I will need to bring in enough dirt to about the Home Depot bucket. Hard to see, but new exterior lights have been added by the outside kitchen and by the walkway on the right side of the house.

We are running out of time to complete these projects due to temperatures and weather.

    Nothing exciting or picturesque.

I removed an old 1/2 HP garage door opener that was on the struggle bus dealing with my 18’ wide garage door. Particularly weak and ineffective in cold weather, I’m guessing because the tracks contract a bit in cold weather and the screw drive on the old unit had to be lubed and it probably didn’t work well at -10. Door would start and then stop after 3” of travel until it cycled enough times to work.

Plus it was merrily burning through every 60W garage door rated bulb I could feed it.

I can open the door manually and it stays up so the springs are tensioned properly as far as I can tell, and they’re only a few years old.

So yesterday I decided to buy a new opener. Picked up a 1.25 HP Chamberlain belt drive Wi-Fi capable unit with a camera. Then elected to commit to ruining an entire afternoon and evening taking the old one down, and installing and setting up the new one. Took longer than I would have liked since I had to affect a repair on the header above the door for the lag screw on one side where the lag screw split the timber. I even pre drilled the damn hole and still got a split. Oh well, shored up with deck screws to correct the surface and the lag screws are more than long enough to bite into the even heavier timbers behind it.

Then I got to wire all the sensors, wall mounted door switch, install the battery backup, and program the damn thing. Then clean up and put vehicles back. Then clean all my tools and put them back.

I can now open or close my garage door via a phone app from anywhere and spy on my garage like the eye of Sauron. So my garage door has more connectivity apps than my 2007 Tundra. LOL.

When our garage door gave up the ghost, replaced it and got the same opener (except no camera). Really like it, quick and quiet, lights the garage like a stadium...though I rarely use the app to open/close.

Well poop. Any easy ideas to get this stupid vanity to fit? I though of replacing one side of drywall with 1/4 inch since it’s 1/2 inch right now but besides a new vanity I don’t know what else to do.
