I was just linking DT for someone, and out of curiosity I pulled up my tires. I about crapped myself...I run 285/70/18's. The 295 isn't much cheaper.

You should try shopping in Canadian dollars. You might need some bead lube to go with your rubber.

Crazy what my tires cost just two years ago. 265/70/18

    Check out pricing on 20’s.

18’s suddenly feel less harsh in the wallet.

To the point of the US having a greater selection of products. It all comes down to consumerism and the US has roughly 10 times the population of Canada..or should I say consumers. Companies know Americans are ravaging consumers in the global market and where they will sell more product so more product is offered. In the eyes of big corporations we're all just consumers and if Canada doesn't matter to the big corporations well thats ok because you matter to us. ~OH CANADA~

A month ago, for 35x12.5 Ridges, I paid substantially more for 4 of those than what it used cost me for 6 (dually) Trail grapplers for my Ram.
I was like WTF?? And then I was like, well, I gotta have them anyway, so let’s send it.

To help with tire cost, look for sales, military discounts, brand rebates, etc.

As other have mentioned, take offs can be a good deal. My last set of wheel and tires were 800.00. The tires were in such good shape that discount tire sold certificates for them. I then turned around and sold my mostly worn out tires and same wheels for 475 or 500. Can’t remember. So for around 425.00 I had newer wheels and tires with certificates.

I picked up a new set at DT a couple months ago, and they had a buy 3, get one free special, but you had to buy the road certs. So basically got the road certs for free.

I was leaning towards the michelin AT. But the price was better on the coopers and the reviews for the coopers were great.

    “Supply chain shortages”

So you cut production 10% - stop advertising and hike the price 100% - suddenly creating an artificial demand from everyone who has to buy now or live in fear the price will be higher tomorrow.

Seems to be working well for corporate America these days - tires are no different. Buy now or miss out forever possibly - at least that’s how they portray it.

Glad I bought mine here slightly used.

A few weeks ago I was looking at 35x12.50R18 Toyo AT3. They was $420 each. Now everywhere they gone up to $431. My wheels aren't coming for another 2 months and I was waiting to order tires after, but I may have to order the tires now at this rate. :frusty:

I picked up some Kanati Trail Hogs for under a grand, 275/60/20. They’re made by Greenball, out of Kentucky I believe. I’d say the tread is somewhere b/w AT and MT (closer to AT). I’ve put 5k miles on em in about a two week period (long road trip, up the west coast, Mexico to Canada, 101 or the 1 the entire way). They’re much better priced than others, look great, but I will say they’re noisy. I don’t mind cuz I blast my (c)rap music anyway, but I could see others not liking the noise. Haven’t had em off road yet (have had em on some dirt roads and sandy beaches but nothing crazy), they seem to perform just fine. Really enjoyed my Toyos but for the price I was willing to try these out. So far I’m happy, but can’t really say much more than they perform well on roads and highways. Just another option if you’re looking. Picked em up from Simple Tire

Hell I cheaped out 2 years ago and bought atturo trail blades. I'd just bought and was furnishing a house when I got a sidewall puncture.
The wildpeaks I wanted at the time would have been $1500 out the door. Got the atturos for $880 otd.

Right now, wildpeaks would be $2100 otd and atturos would be $1250

    Absolutely insane

Honestly not bad at all. They're wearing even which is nice considering the ko2s I ran before cupped like a bitch.
Never had any issues with wet or dry traction.
Only real negatives so far are they flat spot after being parked, which a ton of tires do. Even my wife's factory Bridgestones on her 4runner do, and I have to run the psi about 10lb higher than the ko2s to reduce rolling resistance.
