I judge everyone driving something with plastic headlights the same way, and dont get me started on electric starters. Dealerships are scalpers, and some fool bought the vehicle you want 40 years ago, you just have to find it.

My folks took delivery of a '22 Rubicon recently. They declined the Nitrogen filled tires for $500. Salesman told them they come with Nitrogen from the factory anyways whether they pay for it or not.

I didn't actually watch the video but no way i would pay for it. A lot of aftermarket wheel shops fill with nitrogen. I doubt they come from the factory with nitrogen. Does it have green valve stem caps?

I didn't watch it either. I could have misheard and it was the dealer that did it and not the factory, but the sales dude told us all the Rubicons come with it. It was ordered from the factory and spent less than a day on the lot. The valve caps are metal and say NF, presumably for nitrogen filled.

The dealer also tried to tell us the auxiliary switch panel (think SwitchPros, Auxbeam) can only be wired and programmed by Jeep/ 4WP. Took me two minutes of peeping around to find the connections...

Isn't compressed air 78% nitrogen anyways :monocle:

Wasn't nitrogen filled tires a thing for specialty applications like racing and others, where the slightest change in tire pressure can cause major problems in vehicle performance?
Which wouldn't make sense for passenger vehicles to have nitrogen filled tires. It really serves no real world purpose, but to make $$$ for someone.

My tire shop filled my Falkens with nitrogen no charge, and will top off during service/rotations no charge as well. Now, I may be paying for it elsewhere, but the line item says free.

My accountant father in law says it's not "free", it's "included".

I started skimming the FTC page. I think it's a good idea in theory but of course the dealers are going to find a way to say that northern filled tires or whatever do provide a benefit to the customer and thus it's ok to charge for them.
