I have Outlook 2016. When I receive spam, I hit the JUNK tab and then BLOCK SENDER.

That used to work. Now, the email I’m trying to block (the address) disappears for a second and then the email reappears.

I have been getting repeat spam emails, which is quite frustrating.

Is there a way to fix this without changing to another email server like Gmail?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Outlook is just the front end client - what are you using server side? Outlook.com or hotmail? An actual enterprise Exchange server? AOL or another dead service? Sounds like you need updates on one or more of your components.

If the Spam is from a legitimate company, like Cabela's, discount tire or whatever, the best thing to do is to find the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the message and click that. Recent regulations regarding mass emails require them have that button to be able to send bulk mailers and not be flagged.

Like TRDFerguson said, Outlook isn't your email service, its just the program you use to view and manage messages. If block isn't working in outlook, you need to log into the website for your actual email account, AOL, Hotmail, gmail, whatever it may be and block it from there. If your not sure, you can go to File> account settings > server settings, the server address may point you to your actual email service.
