Would these kits work with an aftermarket alarm/auto start system?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed in this thread and helped answer questions. As the OP, I appreciate the helpful comments. I'll pick up the OEM kit and will likely install this along with the FRAC camera harness.

The universal kit totally works. Spent $8-10 on it, got 2 actuators and put one in my buddy's Tundra.

I just installed the auto lock tailgate today. I didn’t use the oem one, but the pop and lock from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08T5HSW9Z?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I’m not too sure of the difference but everything is plug and play. No tapping into any harness. Install took maybe 1hr or less. I didn’t really time it, was doing other mods like the AJT interior etc. The only tedious part is going under the truck. I don’t have a creeper so I just put on some beat up clothes to crawl under the truck to zip tie the wires to existing wires along the bed frame every few feet or so.

It would seem the pop and lock kit has been updated since the release of the OEM kit. Now they are both about the same price too p&l kit used to be about $90. Maybe the only difference I can see from the Amazon description is that it doesn't include the new rubber gasket for the new wire to go through under the body to the passenger side connection. Biggest complaint I've seen from the pop and lock kit is that its very loud but maybe that had changed. If they're both the same price, why not go OEM?

I never knew oem was $140 when I first bought it. Figured the oem would had been $3-400 so when I first saw it on Amazon, I decided to make the purchase. I can’t comment on the longevity of this product as I just installed it today so day 1 for me, but so far I’m liking it and it feels of decent quality for $140. I was looking at some of the YouTube videos, I seen a lot of tap connections for other brands or older versions. The one I got was plug and play.

This. I installed a tailgate lock kit from Amazon. Works awesome. Took an hour to take apart the tailgate, install, route wires, etc. Great addition with my Diamondback aluminum bed cover. Everything is super secure.
