When i bought my 2016, the driver's roof trim strip was missing. New one is here and I have read the TSB on this repair. But it does not mention the white strip that has adhesive on it.

Is this something Toyota added to improve th eretention?

    Any other tips or tricks?

None to day....that’s why I’m here.
My 17 had an adhesive strip from the factory. It failed in front of that at the clip.installing the new one was easy, just clean the slot good, start at the windshield and work your way back. It snaps in with very little pressure. Foam tape holds well just be careful to get it in the right place to begin with.
