They aren't really a thing in Canada, so people forget about them. I find it staggering that a country so obsessed with property rights has these bullshit organizations. Tell your HOA to get fucked and keep your trailer (YOUR PROPERTY!) on your driveway (YOUR PROPERTY!) and see how it goes, they might not care or be too pushy.

Some of HOA's are run by little Hitlers, piss them off and they'll royally fuck you over. You agreed to their terms when you bought the place.

Depending where you are! East coast does seem to have more of them, ( N.S.whether formally an HOA or restrictive/protective covenants, which are legally conditions attached to / part of the legal deed to the property.

Lol. That explains it. HOAs have particular language in their charters to prevent trailer and boat storage in the community. If I lived in the country or an older community I could have stored it in my backyard or another part of my driveway.

I happen to have some experience fighting with HOAs. More times than not, they just bully and threaten the homeowners and the homeowners obey because people who live in neighborhoods with HOAs tend to fit in and comply. However, the HOA can only enforce the Conditions, Covenants, and Restrictions (CCRs) written by the neighborhood developer, are publicly recorded on the original subdivision plat, and referenced by deed to each lot sold and developed.

So, if the original subdivision developer recorded a CCR that says you cannot paint your house red, you better pick another color. But if the original developer recorded something like, "no homeowner can diminish the beauty and enjoyment of the neighborhood", and some activist HOA president interprets that to mean that a red house diminishes the beauty of the neighborhood, and then threatens you, you can sue him and win. No judge will rule agains you for a red house. The HOA can likely use association dues to pay their legal fees, and that is usually the largest incentive to just comply. They may even be able to increase dues to fund the lawsuit... Maybe, I'll just paint it beige...

So, does your HOA CCRs specifically say you cant park a trailer in the driveway? Or rather, do the CCRs say you can't maintain anything noxious or offensive on your property, and the HOA czar decided that trailers are noxious and offensive?

Often, the HOAs will create HOA "guidelines" that are written by the board and adopted by a board vote. These are handed out to every new neighbor and they are used to threaten people. They say things like your garbage can has to be stored out of sight, and you can't park on the street, etc...

These "guidelines" are completely unenforceable, unless they are a direct reference to the CCRs. Years ago, a neighbor would have to either go down to the public registrar to research and make photo copies of the recorded CCRs. Now, they are a simple public records search.

Of course, you have to ask yourself... Is the juice worth the squeeze? Is my wife going to kill me if I'm the only one on the street fighting the HOA and parking a trailer in my driveway? Do I want to be "that guy"? I tend to answer yes to that question, more than I should...

And this is why I made sure to confirm with my realtor that none of the neighborhoods we looked at have HOAs when we were buying our house.

So you doubled the trucks weight and are going down hills without trailer brakes. (You left out the hills part like you had in your Facebook post.)

And you’re thinking Toyota’s brake pads are the issue?

    Ok.

I need to start checking voltage at my brakes… I feel factory brake controller is garbage compared to my prodigy P3 I was using.. I need the brakes set at 6 in the tundra and will barely drag the tires empty on dirt.. ( yes the trailer brakes are adjusted properly ) when I use it on my last truck I used the aftermarket controller and trailer tires would drag at 2 with the P3 brake controller… have more investigating to do.. may see if I can still plug-in the P3 in this truck.

I've seen in more than one place that the factory one leaves much to be desired. Maybe that's why they don't include them in the "towing package"?
