2018 Tundra JBL Stereo Firmware

Hello! Every 2nd time I start my truck my Bluetooth phone pairing flaps (connected, disconnected, connected, disconnected, etc…). I have the 2018 JBL system. Killing the engine and restarting connects the phone, most of the time. My phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max) works with all my other toys so I'm pretty sure its a Tundra issue. I asked my dealer today if a firmware update is available, and if I could apply it myself. They told me they’d have to do it and the cost is $189CAD. And obviously there is no guarantee that will fix the Bluetooth problem. I thought I’d post here and ask if anyone knows how to obtain the latest greatest software because I’d like to update myself, otherwise I think its time to look at aftermarket. Thanks.

 

You can check here to see if there is a download available for your year/trim. I believe after a certain date, the updates moved to OTA via the Entune or Toyota Connect app or whatever. I'd invest that 189 in a new head unit before I'd pay the stealership to maybe fix your issue.
