According to the computer I'm at 16mpg. Not sure yet what I'm actually getting since I only have 180 miles on it so far. Will probably fill up around the 300m mark regardless of what the gauge actually says since I seem to have that fuel gauge bug.

Ha. Those really are great for economy though. A buddy of mine and his dad (who was an airplane mechanic) tuned his old diesel Rabbit back when we were in high school. He would average 61mpg with just him and a giant homemade subwoofer box in it, lol.

If it took me 41 minutes to go 33 miles, I'd never get there, even if I was getting 24 mpg!!

The day I picked mine up, I had a few errands to run, and then drove from Schaumburg, IL to Maryville, TN on a single tank. 650 miles total..

First fill up and averaged 15.1. This was in normal mode the whole time with about 25% highway, 70% what I'd call country driving (not stop and go, just a couple stop signs and 2 lane country roads varying from 35-55mph limits), and 5% off road playing around with 4wd and 4lo crawl control.

014E1FC5-4DFF-419F-9AEC-7B4E4194865B.jpg I’ve been consistent at around 21-22 for my commute. Normal mode. And my typical 8mph over the speed limit. Been kind of surprised. I fill at half tank and switch between 87 and 88 octane.

Wow. 24 MPG in stop and go city traffic with stop lights... That is really impressive. Unheard of frankly. You're doing something right, I suppose. Best I can get on my best behavior around Charlotte is 16.5 city.

About a 45 min drive with couple stops cruising between 55-60 mph on some back highways

So about 25mpg when you convert over…
My take average is usually 18-19 mpg with combined driving and usually few commutes with my dump trailer in there as well… and I’m not a slow driver or slow to get up to highway speeds

Still on my first tank of fuel. Have a little over 300 miles. Went for a drive over 2 mountain passes (chinook and White). Averaged 20.6mpg.

My first tank was 20.3. 1/3 in town, and the rest highway.

What do most of your fuel range indicate on the computer? My truck says it gets 20.1 mpg (wrong I know) but says my fuel range is only 440 miles on a full tank? 5 tanks of fuel in, always running 91. Should be adapting by now but range has never gone up.

I am getting a reading of 448 miles fuel range at full tank, running 87 grade.

I did a non-scientific experiment two months or so ago. I used 87 for 2000mi and then 91 for another 2000mi. I didn't hand calculate anything, just went by what the truck's computer told me. The mpg ave was set to tank average. My tank ave mpg was about 1mpg lower when I filled with 87, typically between 16.5-17.5. For the 91, the truck was showing me 17.5-18.5. All figures were read at the end of the tank. On 87, I couldn't reach the 500mi mark before needing to refuel but I got close on 91. Started the experiment when the truck had 6000mi on odometer.

Like I said, very un-scientific. Is it possible the truck was still breaking in? yes. Did I change my driving habits between the two octanes? I tried to drive the same but it's possible. I might try again in the future but go 5000mi instead. Don't take what I did as gospel, I am just sharing my experience.

Shouldn't it be closer to 550-600 range?

So many variables, like temperature, wind, hills, humidity, hills, altitude, idling time, traffic, break-in, driving style, etc can make several MPG difference.

If you live in a city it would be tough, but if you have a couple miles of empty road nearby (no traffic) you should be able to do a more scientific test (out-back runs). You'd be relying on the computer but it should be consistent. I think it's more consistent than a single tank fill measurement anyway.

On the Gen2 the computer says I'm empty when I have 6 gal left. I know you aren't supposed to get too low or you could damage the fuel pump, but I think they are overly conservative.

Took a highway trip yesterday. I put the truck in Eco and set the cruise at 120km/h (80mph). The computer was reading 12.5 liters per 100kms which works out to slightly under 19mpg.

That's pretty good at 80 mph. I'm driving from Oregon to Indiana next week to pick up our camp trailer and I was curious what kind of mileage to expect driving at "gotta get there" speed, good to know

I was certainly happy with it. In fairness, the drive was pretty flat with only a couple hills. I'm sure driving in the mountains will be alot different, but we'd also be running slower at 60 - 70mph. We'll be doing a trip through the foothills in a couple weeks, so I'll be watching the fuel consumption with curiosity.

I've got a few mountain ranges to go over so I'm sure that will factor into it as will the normal tail wind heading east and head wind coming back west. I normally drive around 70 on the interstates but if I'm running behind I'll speed it up.

I took a trip up into the mountains this weekend. Not sure why, but I got my best mileage yet. 20.8mpg on an 87 mile trip in Normal mode. worked to keep the tach below 1500 rpms as much as possible. I did have the tonneau closed, and was running 87 octane.

Took a 397km (248mi) drive yesterday. Drive 120km/h (75mph) down and 130(80) coming back with 800lb 8.5’ Vplow in the back.. and quite a bit of hills in Atlantic Canada…

filled up when I got back.. was 51L ( 13.5gal)
So return ended up being 12.8L/100km (18.3 mpg ) with about 5 stops off the highway… and not really being conservative on getting up to speed… so from going from my 2010 5.7L to this, hands down a major improvement… I would’ve burnt atleast another 30L (8gal) in my old truck.

Just returned last Monday from a round trip of over 1400 miles through VA, WV, OH, to MI and back to NC running speed limit about 99% on interstates, WV turnpike and 4 lane highways, using regular 87. Have over 12,000 miles on my 2022 SR5 2WD Tundra with Stock 18" Yokohama Geolandar street tires @ 40PSI. Got 23.5MPG using Tundra's onboard computer with speed limits up to 70MPH. Last trip in May to same destination yielded 22.5MPG.
