So, got a little hot-headed and ordered a X2 31M batteries on sale (20% off) and after trying my Taco friend's CBI tray, went ahead and ordered one as it would fit the 31M but need to drill extra hole for the feet to hold it in place.
The drill hole was a miss, since I forgot right underneath is the frame, so yea, regular drill ain't gonna make a dent, but it was enough to somewhat sit the tray. But here comes the problem: X2 31M battery terminals are up front, so for me to stretch the wires to make it hook up even with the SDHQ billet, I was short about .5-.75 inch of wire. So of course took it out for now and install the old battery.

Question: Does anyone know what this wire from the fuse box do? I assume it is the safety feature to avoid the battery killing the on-board system? If so, does anyone know if I can cut it and somehow make it longer by 2 inches so I don't have to stretch the whole wiring system just to get to the terminal?
    Ideas? Thanks.

Yes, you can cut and extend it. I’ve done it before.

The positive to the fuse box is what powers the trucks system and assists with alternator voltage regulation.

You could always try something like this which might get you that extra .75".

Since you don't want to cut existing wiring, why not just buy the appropriate 24F or 27F X2 battery for your Tundra?
If your Tundra has the 24F stock, you can get an OEM 27F tray for it and have the bigger battery.
I get it the 31M has a higher 8 AH cap and another 220 in CCAs, but is that worth cutting up your wiring that you don't seem comfortable doing?
Besides that, the 27F is cheaper...

    Good luck...

You’ll need a 4awg coupler, a crimper, shrink tubing, 4awg copper wire, and a 4awg ring terminal that will fit around the stud of the battery terminal connector.

    1. Cut a piece of the 4awg wire to the desired extension length
    2. Strip both ends
    3. Connect, crimp and shrink tube one end with ring terminal.
    4. Connect, crimp and shrink tube coupler on other end.
    5. Cut the cable from the fuse box closest to the battery terminal side.
    6. Strip off the end, then connect, crimp, shrink tube the coupler with the extension wire.

I totally agree @1lowlife , however, I am stuck with this 31M for now so trying to see if it is worth the risk to cut and extend, if not, I will try and talk to Batteries Plus to see if I can do a return and just get the 27F (my original was 27 from factory)....

    That would work...

@iantung I've some 4 and 0 ga pieces of wire laying around.
The 4 ga already has a ring terminal on it, but it is CCA wire.
    The 0 ga is copper.

PM if you need them and I'll mail them out to you..
