Ran the ditch light wiring in my 4runner no problem, but cant find any guides online as to how to do it in a 22 Tundra.

Figured I'd be the first to write something up.

Being that the engine is so far back in the bay, I think the best option is to run the wiring behind the heat shield I circled in the photo, and send the switch wire in through the firewall where a bunch of the wiring goes.

Any advice from someone who has already would be appreciated!

That looks like a tight fit and you may want to consider fishing the wire out from the cab to the engine bay.

Is there another grommet to pass through the firewall? In the 2.5 gen, there is one on both the driver and passenger side.

Another option is to pick up a wireless switch controller like the trigger 4 or 6. If you plan on adding other accessories, this would save you the trouble of fishing more wires through later on.
