2022 Wind Chill Pearl Tundra Limited, Crew Max, 6.5 Bed, 4x4, TRD Package
    Hi folks,

I picked up my Tundra from the dealer yesterday (July 31). Tundra Limited, Wind Chill Pearl, CrewMax, 4x4, TRD Package, 6.5' bed. I waited a few months for the truck. I did not special order but gave the dealer what an option list of what I was looking for and they found the truck. It has everything I wanted. The color was my second choice below Lunar Rock.
I had never driven a Tundra before yesterday. Fortunately, I liked the drive and bought it that day.

There are a couple things missing. I ordered a full set of WeatherTech mats today. I should look for a Tonneau for the bed as well. But what I really need now are Running Boards. It is a big step to get into the seat. I'm 6', my wife is 5'4" and both of us would appreciate a step.

I'm not sure if I should just order the TRD Cast Aluminum Running Boards from Toyota or get the Go Rino RB20 Slim or RB20 Standard boards. Any thoughts here?

    Thanks!

We have the Toyota “dual step” black oem, crew 1794, they sit really close to the truck imo if did again I might look for aftermarket if they sat a bit further out, my foot barely fits width wise to step in.

Congrats on the truck. I love the looks of the 6.5ft bed on the CM's. That's the only option that I wish mine I'm waiting for had.

Good to know. Thanks. Yes, ideally, they have some width so you get more than a toe hold.

Yeah, I wanted the bed space for hauling stuff. It is a big truck though and that one foot of additional bed length is a lot especially coupled with CrewMax. Fortunately I live in a rural area. I could not see tooling around in this truck where I used to live in Seattle.

Congrats (and welcome)! You picked up a really nice looking truck. I'm in Western Washington and also ended up with a 6.5' bed limited. I opted for the retrax mx one tonneau, and RB20s. I have the RB20s in my garage, but my truck is currently in the shop getting paint protection film installed. I can shoot you some photos once I get them installed. I chose the RB20s because I saw them on a 2021 I test drove and really loved how they felt and looked on the truck.

I chose the retrax, and love it quite a bit, because it makes the bed into a lockable trunk with minimal water intrusion. I took it to a touchless wash prior to the PPF install drop off. During the automated pressure wash I'd say about 1 teaspoon of water infiltrated around the tailgate. It didn't look like enough to even flow around on the bed mat. Mind you, I don't think a natural rainstorm would ever push that hard and that concentrated in that area of the truck.

trd running boards are hit/miss depending on the foot size of the person. the RB20 regular sized are i think 6in width but stick out alot more than the trd ones. more function over form for the RB20's

I think they're more like 7.5" at the front and 6.5" at the back if you're going withe regular width that aren't slimlines.

Congrats on the truck! I'm jealous of that 6 1/2' bed!
