Toyotas are a new animal to me because I have never been under very many of them. My Tundra is a 17 Model, and my question is what color is the sealant? Mine looks like it may have been apart because the sealant does not look factory neat. It is also orange and when I drained the fluid at 57,000 the only thing in it was two or three small pieces of orange sealant. I bought this truck with 37,000 nearly three years ago and I've been changing all the fluids trying to get everything on track. Thanks for any and all help. Sunfish

Are you saying your transfer case was bone dry and only had 2 or 3 pieces of sealant come out? Or it came out with the fluid.

It had almost a quart and a half of fluid but was really clean except for the small pieces of orange RTV

I think it was originally a white thread sealant that oxidizes over time. Some of mine looked orange but when scraped with a wire brush it was mostly white. I used tru blu when putting it back together and it’s been fine.

Is this the color you're referring to?

Yes, Joe that is the color of the sealant. I see you put better bolts in your T pan. What did the fluid out of your transfer case look like?

That's the factory color of the sealant near the transmission pan, which yes I put stainless bolts in. I have done my transfer case fluid as well. This was old vs new Toyota 75w at 33,000.

What are the specs of those bolts & where did they come from? I'm getting ready (when it cools off) to pull my trans pan & replace my filter/fluid.

Be ready for a very pricey gasket, strainer and O-ring. They said they gave me wholesale prices and it was a $133.00
