I have a 2011 Tundra, 4.6L V8 with @86,000 miles. I have noticed in the last couple of days that when I shift gears the transmission is not going into gear on occasion. I have to put it in park a few times to get it in park as well as reverse and drive. The transmission seems to be running smoothly. I have not noticed any changes in the way the truck is running. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I take it to the shop, especially if it is something that I can fix. Thanks in advance.

    UPDATE:
I took the console apart to have a look see and didn't see anything broke or lying loose. I did however notice that there is a switch in the Park position that apparently the lever is not contacting when I put it in park. So to start the truck I have to push the lever forward and start the truck. I also noticed that I go from drive to neutral to reverse without having to touch the brake. So I know that something is not working correctly. The only thing different is that I have added new tires to my truck and I went up one tire size. This started after the tires were put on, my thought is that this has nothing to do with it but you guys on here are alot smarter than I am. Thanks in advance for you, thanks in advance!

    2nd Update:
I took the truck to the Toyota dealer and they said it just needed a cable adjustment, which they did. It seems to be working but I left with this question. Should I be able to go from Drive to Neutral to Reverse without doing anything? I could be driving down the road and go straight into reverse from drive with dire consequences. Am I missing something? Thanks for any information on this.
