I was thinking that. We just got internet and running water in Tennessee recently so we're a bit clueless.

Look up "mechanics wire" and see if that may be more-readily available locally. It comes in smaller, more portable rolls too, 25ft and whatnot.

Drop ceiling wire works in a pinch also, I have a roll in the toolbox just in case.

Hell yeah, this. Great for holding things in place you don't want moving, and also makes a great temporary ground strap, especially if you're tracking down grounding issues in audio applications, or needing to confirm grounds for 12v electrical probs.

I dunno, I'm familiar with it. I was only in SoCal for 2yrs of my life. Pretty sure that's not where I heard it.

With all the times we got transferred from base to base, and all the people I hung out with because they were transferred somewhere else, who knows where I got it from!

i dont use drive thru's. But 500lbs above the cab would make for an interesting ride.

The final definition they have for "pie" fits this bill. But the 1st definition finally helped me understand a slang usage I had the gist of, but was slightly off the mark. I thought when someone said you were "pie" around my neck of the world, it meant you were sweet as sugar, effeminate, a poostie.

When I donated my hotrod to a museum, guy picked it up with a pickup pulling a 2 level car carrier skeleton. I've since realized there are a lot of rigs like that on the highways. This set up could be a real game changer for those drivers. Looks like it wouldn't interfere with a 5th wheel connection.

 

My dumbass wasn't paying attention and missed this by a mile.

I think I had to slam on the brakes doing 80 mph and pull over into the breakdown lane to capture mine.

 

That's dedication. I was pissed when I missed 69,696. I told myself, "Man, I gotta take a pic of this today", but I get in the zone while driving and tune extra stuff out.

 

I’m just exaggerating, but I did pull over and cruised in the breakdown lane at 10 mph for 1/2 mile before it rolled and took a pic.

We had a 1969 Ford truck that I learned to drive in. Mom bought it at a DWP auction with a huge welder in the back, musta spent most time parked at job sites so it had low miles. The day it was gonna make 100,000 miles, I stayed home from school, drove it, and pulled over so we could douse it in cheap champagne. We all loved that truck. The Fords of yesteryear were good ones.

 

There are so many Chevy/Ford memes to choose from but I digress !

 

The Dodge Dart with the slant 6 from the late 60s, early 70s was another vehicle that couldn’t die. A friend from high school had over 300k on his car.

 

Yeah, all the “American” brands were really solid until ~ 80’s. Bummer it’s not that way now.

 

My 81 Buick Regal I bought in the late 80s was reliable for 15 years until the moving/storage company decide to drain my oil without telling me and I lost a crankshaft bearing 2 months later.

Yeah, most other states require 25 years to call it antique.

 

hope we don't have modification police at the registry. My Taco got a little taller somewhere along the way. Fleetside turned stepside too.

 

I think it only matters if you try to get antique insurance for the appraised value of your truck and not the blue book value. Downside is you can only drive it a few months out of the year to qualify (at least here that’s the case)

 

I always thought 20 years = classic; 50 years = antique.

 

We seem to have blended them here.
I can't find any limit by the state on milage. I know insurances will limit.
I do find that the state limits antique/classic vehicles be valued at no more than $500. That matters as many towns tax vehicles based on value.
I just paid $104.70 annual car tax on the Taco. The classic plates will bring that down to $14.10 by limiting the value to $500.

 

25 years in GA.

67-72 Chevy p/u with the I6 was another. 53-56 Ford p/u with straight 6 or flathead another. Not a Ford fan, but that was their heyday of trucks IMO.

 

That sucks. I’ve been paying $66 and change for almost forever on my 02 Tundra.
