    Welcome to the forum.

There are many aftermarket remote start/alarms that use apps to lock/unlock/start your vehicle..

    I have a Compustar alarm/remote start on my 2014.
It uses the Drone Mobile app, although a paid subscription is required for the app.

    You really have two options.

Your car should've come stock with the RS3000 system. We have pics somewhere around here of what to look for. If you have power locks, chances are you've got it. No bluetooth required, you can get a replacement OEM fob, and we have a thread here in the 1st Gen subforum that would help you to program it.

Alternately, there are a plethora of aftermarket options. Install will require tapping into stock wiring, and adds a source of power drain, at the expense of more comfort features. The shop I worked for bitd sold Avital and Clifford, both are still around under DEI, but got merged in with a few other brands under VOXX, who owns everything in the automotive electronics world these days.

I personally love Clifford products. If I were you, I'd personally go that route, although I'm not familiar with their current product line, they have what you need. They've always produced stuff for the long haul, and you should have no problems finding a qualified installer in your area.

Edit: Link to Clifford's stuff (check the products menu) and here's their search tool to find an authorized dealer/installer near you. I can't recommend to try and find results marked as "preferred dealer" like you see here:

Wow thanks for the detailed response, I looked up Clifford and I’m really looking to bypass the fob with the hopes that my phone could become the fob ie Bluetooth, is this a possibility? I just want to seamlessly enter and exit my vehicle ie lock/unlock via my iPhone.

Your original post got me to thinking and poking around, as this would be a really nice option/solution. However, after some fairly extensive searching, I couldn't find any really good options for bluetooth access. One of the common issues that was brought up was battery drain... the car would have to keep bluetooth on all the time to "listen" for connection from your phone. This seemed to be the deal-breaker as it would drain the battery in a relatively short period of time (e.g. go on a trip and get back to your car at the airport with a dead battery).

I plan to ask an electrical engineer friend of mine to see if he thinks there's a solution that would work, as it seems there's a market opportunity here. He has developed several solutions and startup companies around them, and then sold them to other companies. Needless to say, he's doing very well. A bonus is that he also has a first-gen tundra! (bought new, along with his other 10+ collector and race cars. :-/)
