    Well they got a lot right with the 3rd gen including the seat. Mines very comfy with good back support.

    Have you watched the videos about the million mile tundra and its owner? That man is huge. Not only did he get a ton of driving time but he also slept in that seat. The expectations on the frame of that seat was to see broken welds, not a single weld was broke. Keep in mind that seats not only have to be comfortable for a wide range of body types but also meet all the .gov standards. not an easy task for any manufacture.

    Scoff all you want the 3rd gen is light years ahead of previous tundras, and I have had 4 others.

    They did. Sweers talks about it in a YouTube video with Andre from TFL I believe. They still overbuild certain drivetrain components, like previous generations. Just because you prefer the previous gen (I do, too, at this point) doesn’t mean the engineers didn’t apply what they learned about it.
    Yeah he is a massive dude. And he hauled 2700 lb in the bed often. There is a second 4.7 million miler. There is at least one 5.7L million miler with another closing in.

    Gen 3 is so far ahead of previous Gen. If you, as a previous gen owner, want to pretend that's not true that's cool.

    But Gen 3 is better. I don't doubt it for a second that they took a lot of things they learned from the million mile Tundra and put toward the Gen 3.

    The only thing that bothers me is people presenting their opinions as objective fact. I’m glad you like your truck. But it’s not objectively “better”. I would not and still won’t trade into one. Maybe in a few to several years. But not yet. Not for the stuff I do.

    I would hope so, considering the pricing. Yeah, every other 1/2 ton has gone full retard on price too, so that is what it is.

    But let’s be honest, there are bugs to be worked out. And that isn’t exclusive to the 3rd gens either. I certainly expected some.

    In the end, I feel like there is three criteria to being the perfect truck:

    It’s paid for
    It runs well (and does what you need it to)
    The tank is full.

    Oh, maybe four.
    It’s cleaned up inside and out.

    No hate for a 6. I've had straight and v 6's that were awesome. Even an Isuzu 4 that I took everywhere.
    I'm just wondering if the 22 is based on a tear down of the million mile 4.7. Why is there 2 less cylinders. Stirring :bucket:.

    You’d have to ask those guys. I don’t hate it at all. And I’m not salty about anyone thoroughly enjoying their trucks. I just disagree with the “objectively better” nonsense.

    There are inflammatory comments on both sides, but lots of it is started by 2nd gen guys talking about how much they think it’s ugly. I think it looks great, and all the low-end torque must be nice. I hope Toyota offers a HDPP in the next few years before I’m in the market again. Otherwise, I may just skip the half-ton market altogether.

    Nice interior. Screen was a bit large for me. It was white with black surround. Suspension caught my eye too. Looked decent. If I preferred a full size I'd certainly consider the new Tundra, but I'm really liking my mid size a lot. I'm done with full size trucks.
