Is an ECU tune up needed for a muffler replacement for my 2022 Toyota Tundra?

I just recently replaced my muffler on my 2022 Toyota Tundra for better sound and to increase horsepower.

Will the ECU automatically make the corrections for the difference in air/fuel mixture. Or do I have to go the the dealer for them to make ECU adjustments?

For sure, but not sure what gains in power you’ll see. Possibly none. Is the muffler more restrictive than anything else upstream?

Non restrictive. Its a Carven (non catback) muffler it actually increases airflow. I can actually feel and see a faster acceleration, with an additional deeper sound. Its after the catalytic converter so Im hoping i dont have to take it to the dealer.

Drive it like you stole it, the ECU will adapt as needed

So it is a catback since you replaced everything from after the cat to the back. There’s nothing to do unless you want to get into the world of tuning and doing more performance mods to the engine. But the dealer isn’t going to do anything either way.

There's absolutely zero reason at all the worry about a re tune or any sort of ECU changes simply from a muffler swap (or any cat back for that matter).

Without putting more air into the engine, I doubt you'd see more than 10-15 hp/tq even with a tune.

    Some.
Just drive it like you normally do, computer will handle the rest. Don't waste your $ on tune and other BS without working on the induction side, it won't be worth it.

It worried me because I just watched Scott Kilmer on YouTube about, "Why Not To Change The Muffler." Lol.

Thanks for the comments. Im not worried about it now since majority seems to think no service is needed.

Just as an FYI, the dealership will NOT make any tuning "adjustments" to the ECU. That's not even an option.

You definitely won't need to worry about it if you didn't mess with any O2 sensors. And that would only be if you upgraded your cats/downpipes or something and relocated one. Something as simple as a muffler swap won't impact that at all.

Its actually the opposite on these turbo engines. Dont waste money on anything unless you have a tune first.

Until the turbos are maxed out, bolt on parts don't do much of anything except for maybe an intercooler upgrade if the stock one wasn't good. But I think the stock Tundra intercooler system is pretty good.

Once you maxed out the turbos; downpipes and intake might buy you a bit. But really, at that point, bigger turbos will do more than all that other stuff you can bolt on.

Im in california as well and I run the JB4. Obviously isnt CARB legal but its easily removed (5 mins) and will give you a lot more than what muffler swap gave you, if any, other than lightening your wallet a bit. I'm currently running a JBA muffler, JB4 tuner box, E50 ethanol blend fuel and TRD air filters...plenty of power with these mods and I can still run E30 blend without the JB4 and not throw a check engine light.
