On the flip side, I would buy the older truck with 20% fewer miles, pocket the $8k, and install a bigger tank myself. But I am allergic to dealership service centers and really enjoy DIY projects and maintenance on my vehicles. I also never use the radar cruise.

Great point. Never use the radar cruise either.

The radar cruise (to me) is the best thing since the wheel! Especially on 2 lane Texas “back” highways, or traffic on “big” highways. It has been responsible for keeping my heart rate and stress level down a LOT.

Don’t get me wrong, when a passing lane comes I am all over it! Sometimes on the back roads, if the person in front isn’t ridiculously slow I just set the distance to max and go along for the ride, even through the small towns! they slow down so do I, they speed up so do I. No tickets, no stress!

    I ❤️ adaptive cruise!!

After just completing a 3400 mile road trip, I’m definitely considering upgrading my fuel tank size

I’m gonna go with the ‘18. It just makes more sense as I need something that’s gonna work for me whenever I need her to. Calling the dealership now to pull the trigger.
thank you all for the info and opinions. I really appreciate it

This is just as true of the other truck as well. If there is one vehicle on the road I wouldn’t care if it had a warranty or not, it would be a 2nd gen Tundra. This is the bulletproof long term reliability we always talk about on here. I’m sure I’m in the minority on this.

It’s done! Feels so good to have a tundra again. Talk about a relaxed decision.

Cat shields Friday. Putting my UWS tool box in it. Window tint.
I’m gonna leave it like that for now.
Want to drive and enjoy for a while and not worry about anything.
The Lexus messed me up, horrible choice I made.

this. Keep the often fill up hassle, get whatever accessories for the truck you want, pay less for insurance and have the same vehicle.

the 07-21 all have the same driveline, so it has proven well.

Surprised to hear so much distaste for the GX! I had a 2007 470 before my Tundra and other than being a little smaller and lacking the extra 80hp I thought it was fine. What didn’t you like about it? Heavy steering? Cramped interior? Running premium?

I had gotten a lemon. Transmission failed within a month of having it. Did the coolant valley leak not long after the transmission. Door lock actuators kept failing. O2 sensor went bad several times, so did the connectors.
I didn’t have the time and patience to keep messing with it anymore.
Then to top it all off…I didn’t realize how much I needed a truck-a reliable one lol

should have never sold my ‘17…still kick myself.

Amazing vehicle, but they are not pickups. I came from an LX470 and the GX was a consideration for us. Truck bed won out since my kids are grown. Not like a DC doesn't have plenty of backseat though. A bed offers so much versatility if you don't need all that seat room.
