My buddy from here, lives there, works for fedex and goes to a community college, not sure what he makes, but it’s like couldn’t you be doing all of that here? And not be bent over every time you turn around for rent or gas or food?!

So, it is my Friday before a short weekend (extra shifts to cover a couples peoples vacations) and I should have called in sick. Came into the office and had bunches of little fires to deal with. Crap thing is, they are problems I couldn't solve. I just had to troubleshoot and punt, but still need to track them while other groups work them. The majority of my group is in training, so I'm also stuck in the bunker all day.

 

I actually have to work a full 5 days this week. First time in the last month I think. I feel your pain.

 

Yup. I always have to structure mine the same way. I want at least a day or two at home to get rested before getting back to the grind.

Not really. I want the OT right now, but I'm gonna earn it. Worked 7/12s like normal, with today being number 7. Normally I'd be back Wednesday 7/27 night for graves, but I picked up three extra shifts at the front of my hitch and two at the end of it. I'm doing 12/12s on nights.

 

I actually enjoy what I do, however no matter what it will always be work. I shouldn’t be complaining.

 

Added bonus, and a bit of a surprise. Higher ups in the company decided that, because stuff has be crazy this month, they are giving everyone 2 days (16 hours) of Wellness Time to use by the end of the year. Basically a couple vacation/mental health days. Top it off, for every hour worked in the month of July they're going to pay an additional $2.00 at the end of the month. A little unexpected bonus to stack on top of all the OT I'm putting in is certainly welcome.
