Very expensive and hard-ish to master. But if you are doing blackout or bumpers or sliders and want a factory look and durability out of the can....
I've been using it for some time, after trying every other plasti-dip recommendation. I just did my sliders after POR15, and then trying to check the look of Duracoat-18 to match my lid in a dark grey. The textured Duracoat is awesome for bedliner. Great textured base with smooth over. But, smooth on smooth steel - forget it. I sanded lightly the lameness I rolled on those sliders as a test and sprayed the Raptor 2K. Perfect.

Well then we’ll have to add a motion sensor as well and write a detection algorithm so that it won’t trigger if he rolls over on his sleep.

Maybe a 5g/Wi-Fi connection for algorithm updates?

LED - off. Change the position of either switch and LED - on


If you dont like that roller switch, any SPDT momentary switch that you can get your tailgate to actuate, will work

 

Ok, advice time.

wife and kids leave tomorrow morning. I am driving up to meet them on Wednesday. I have to work Monday and Tuesday. So I’ll have some time at night and also Sunday, though I have to drive on Sunday to see the bro in law and take him to the airport.

I sliced off 2-3mm of my left index finger today trying to triple task and not being careful.

I really want to get cruise control done on the ‘05. I think that’s #1. From there I could do either of

1. Dual battery install on 2016 (I believe I have all parts to make this work)
2. Steering wheel swap on 2005 to add audio controls (pairs well with adding cruise but I have zero idea if I need to swap the clock spring and/or what extras I need to add from there. I do have 2 open connectors on the back of the stock radio. Probably wouldn’t finish this one but a leather wheel could be nice.
3. Bedside molle panels on the 2005 (seems straightforward since I had them on the 2016 already)
4. Replace weatherstrip on bakflip on the 2005 (the truck is going to be in the PNW for a while so weatherproofing it makes a lot of sense.
5. LED bulbs in front / rear on the 2005 (have them for the Tundra)
6. LED bulbs in the chmsl

I could also pursue lighting in the shell in the 2016 but ideally that is going to come from the aux battery or Switch-Pros. I have a bunch of kits for that stuff.

Man it’s tough to prioritize. And hard to know if I should attempt a wheel swap. I think it might be possible to swap the wheel without the audio controls and not have to replace the airbag cover. But not sure how well that all lines up.

Also sounds like the wife really wants baseboard done in the master vanity.

This looks familiar! I would use a waterproof switch for the tailgate, S1 is a great choice! Simple, and no Raspberry Pi needed!
Although I still like Pi!

Well, Hmmn. Typically, getting the wife’s baseboards done earns you the most time to work on your projects without getting nagged, once she gets back. And that’ll take less time without others in the way house. Plus, you will still have high incentive to do all the truck projects, whereas that baseboard project is never going to have more allure. I’d knock that out and buy yourself the freedom to get back to what you wanna do.

But that’s more saw work; be careful!

Tis true. Gonna focus on cruise as that's the most time critical right now and may require assistance. Thanks for the advice/guidance. I do likely need to get baseboard dealt with but that can also happen in the afternoon/evening since most of that is likely indoor or close to the garage in the driveway.

 

I think this motto is part of the reason I never get anything done.

2003, V6, 5 spd manual, 2wd, base package (steelie wheels, no fogs, etc.). 210,000 mi. NO RUST (I crawled underneath to confirm). Otherwise very clean and detailed.

Got my cruise in and currently using it. Park at sac, haul horses, Uber pet, fly to sac on Wednesday to finish the drive.

 

I wondered. I just got home. Gonna unload the BFT (paid off btw, 2017, fewer than 35k miles), then wash up to unwrap presents.

This is Steve from Blues Clues doing the “mail time” song, me communicating my great excitement to someone likely to have memorized every episode.

 

The mountains have been calling and we finally went today. I wish I could live up there. Spent the day swimming and taking our $5 Target float down the rapids.






We passed two of these guys on the way. Each guy was driving a beat up 1st gen Taco with a bed full of parts and a even more beat up Toyota Pickup in tow. Seems like a lot for those Taco's to tow.

 

Would someone please explaining what kind of tire/wheel ritual is going on here?

 

Trying to minimize sun damage. Around here we mostly see it for RV’s that sit in one place for months on end, direct sun exposure on one side only.

 

This is New England and it was on both sides of the car. Sun damage around here is minimal.

I'm going with they were / are ceramic coating the paint & didn't want to get anything on the tires/rims.

 

I assume drugs are involved, or maybe cats…..
