Finally, all the chrome is gone. The MCAuto grille is in there, shop did a really good job at making it work. But, I’m still iffy on keeping it. I’ll probably still get a grille from Toyota and switch out the inserts. Shop did awesome on the paint match too! At least I think so.

I will say that there’s zero issues with the sensor so far. Drove it about 30 miles after picking it up, in a lot of traffic, and the radar cruise worked as it always has.

I’m happy overall, just wish the grille was a little better quality. With that being said, you get what you pay for, so my complaining ends there.

@Tundra234 I didn’t get a picture of the issues since they had it all mounted up, sorry.

No worries. It looks good from what I see in the picture. It turned out alot better than the grill saga that I went through.

Man that sucks, I hope they take care of you. My dad literally stayed next to the guys as they mounted new tires on his truck earlier today at the local Discount Tire! Now it all makes sense. LOL

Thanks. I remember seeing something about your issues a little while ago I think. Fitment issues with an aftermarket grille right? You got it all worked out didn’t you?

Yep.....I think it will turn out pretty good. Even with a tinted windshield the sun is brutal when it hits that spot.

I painted the black glossy part on mine, along with the chrome trim around the shifter path - I left the gear letters unpainted by taping them off. Just left them in case my wife was driving. Been a few years and still looks the same.

Check the build link in my signature.
They would have already if they were…
60-75% of value seems to be the number these days to total out, unless serious frame damage or airbags deploy.
My wife’s Forester was $34k new, and at 6 months old someone pulled out in front of her. $18k in damage and insurance didn’t blink an eye over it. Air bags didn’t pop because it was sweeping damage across the front instead of direct impact, but literally everything forward of the engine was replaced or rebuilt.

    Finished my system today.

    • Kenwood DMX1057XR head unit
    • Focal Flax 3 way front stage (had to buy the tweeter pillars to add)
    • Focal Flax Evo coax for rears
    • Fox Acoustics two 10” sub box behind seat
    • (2) JL Audio 10TW3 8 ohm subs
    • JL Audio VXi800 8ch active DSP amp for main speakers (6 front channels/2 rear)
    • JL Audio RD500/1 amp for subs. (Probably less power than i should feed them but should work now. Already had the amp)
I did subs myself, but all of what I did was reconfigured for the speakers and amp, full sound treatment, and then custom tuned by former JL Audio tuner.

So what’s the verdict? Do you still have the factory HU? Looking at doing speaker mods like this and getting away from the cardboard crap.
