Or if you can, just fabricate a jacking point that cradles around the oil pan and directly supports the block. Might be much cheaper if you don't have a hoist sitting around.

A block of wood is the easiest and safest way. get a piece big enough to span the pan, and keep it just clear of the drain bolt. I had no indentions or marks when I was done lifting my motor twice using the above method.

Just do one at a time, unbolt the driver side mount, hold the brakes, and give it a little rev in gear. Use reverse to do the pass side. Engine will lift itself.

i could probably bench press the engine and trans, and torque the bolts with my free hand.

We drop the race boat engine on the work table sitting on the oil pan all the time - sometimes with the blower still attached.

At my old place it would have worked, but not anymore. Ground is sketchy lifting just one wheel in the air already.

But my thought is to install mine with the help of a friend whose done it - then hopefully the both of us can be there to help with the group. Wherever and whenever the mod day is.

*Final few hours of this group buy*

If you’re interested in ordering a set please reply here or shoot me a PM. The clock is ticking and smoke signals and carrier pigeons won’t make it in time.

Also - there’s a couple people who have messaged to get in but I have no idea if they’ve paid. If you haven’t paid yet, today is the last day to do so or your order will be rejected even though you were on the list.

So… moving ahead to the “install party”, Mike and I… maybe you too… have been sifting through places we know, hopping to identify a location we could all hang out for several hours to do our installs simultaneously, while he and Lance act as mentors.

We need a place big enough for … HOW MANY trucks?!!… with the following:

    Absolute Necessities:
    Off-street
    Flat
Bathroom access on-site or close, walkable

    Really Great Extras:
    Shade
    ‘Fridge
    Allowed to bbq
    Pleasant afternoon breeze

Do any of you participating in this GB hold a business-owner/ boss position that allows you to grant permission for a parking lot party at your work place on a weekend? Or do you have a cool buddy/ family member with this kind of space that might offer? Just putting it out here to get us all thinking. It’s a pretty rare (cool!) thing to be able to wrangle this kind of learning/doing event, and it can happen if we find a place it can happen.

    All possibilities welcome! :)
