    This is my wife’s Scion xB. I recently had the coils and spark plugs replaced.
    What is this sticky black stuff?

    Her engine has been squealing on start up. I’m thinking it is the alternator belt. Pretty sure it’s factory.

    Someone probably broke those clips taking the old ones out and that’s how they fixed their boo-boo

    I replace serpentine belts at least every 100k miles. They typically last longer, but time and heat can degrade them too.

    the tabs break all the time unless you gently lift them with a pick..

    i've seen ALOT of "creative" fixes..
