2012 4 WD issues

I know there are lots of threads on 4 WD problems, but none that have addressed my specific issue. Mine will go into 4wd Hi, and not come out, the transfer case switch is actuating, and the ADD is engaging. I have removed the motor several times, and it works perfectly in both directions, the micro switch inside appears to trigger the ADD, so to get it out of 4wd I am forced to manually move the shift Rod. I have a print out of the wiring diagram, but it lacks information as to what triggers the ECU to send the signal to go back to 2wd. I had the opportunity to try a 4wd ECU from an identical truck, with no change? I am a former Honda Master tech with 20 years at the dealer, and I have never seen a 4wd system like this lol, we had electrical ETMs that were phenomenal and made stuff like this easy lol
