I installed the new tonneau from Toyota on this thing a few months ago. We haven’t had much rain here in those few months. That has changed recently.
I know this isn’t claiming to be totally waterproof, but this seems like a bit much. I had my buddy help me who worked in service for 16 years. It’s installed as it should be, I know. This bothers me mainly because I had a undercover Flex cover on my old f150 and it barely let anything in. Is anyone else experiencing this? The corners mainly are very wet.

As I believe i've read on this forum - the OEM tonneau cover is a Bak cover - I installed an aftermarket BAK MX4 (Thank you @SantanaRealtruck) and i've run through a car wash a few times -i do get a few tiny drips close to the cab - but completely dry everywhere else.....totally happy with it (and it looks great!)

To be clear, this much got in when it was absolutely pouring on it for about an hour. I’m of course just comparing to what I’ve had before.

Yup…for the most part under very heavy/consistent rain you will get seepage in through the tailgate corners (fair size gap) and the forward corner up against the cab where there is that little channel that they tell you to plug up with the putty they provide.

I think this similar design (Bak MX4 inspired) worked a little better on the prior generation than it does on this 3rd gen but I am overall still happy with mine as I wasn’t expecting bone dry.

We get a fair bit of rain in this corner of the map with my truck always parked on an incline driveway.

    Good luck
