So today I just noticed this bend in the front of my tundra's bed caused by rci slider hitting it, the paint is also cracked and fell off due to the bending. I have hit my rci slider once on that rear end and it flexed to the point that it hit the bed hard.
I know being a long vehicle, the slider hangs a bit far from it's closest support point to the frame, therefore caused it to flex under impact. But I am not sure if this much of flex is acceptable?
Just some observation incase someone is looking for their sliders.

I have those rock sliders. I haven't tested it that hard to make it flex like that though.

Question. When I was putting mine on, the rear of the sliders were hard to bolt on because of the location of the holes in the frame. Do you have all the holes in the sliders bolted in? I know RCI did a test with a fork lift to raise their truck. That's what my plans were if I ever need to lift the truck to change a tire is to use the sliders instead of an axle to lift. I would think it should support the weight without flexing.

Now I'm interested in the outcome....

I think it is different between being able to lift the truck slowly vs. impact to the slider. A hard hit to the slider will bend it much more temporarily compared to lifting the truck on the slider in a controlled manner.

I had all the holes in the sliders bolted in (the ones that matching the frame holes).

I can’t see the rest of that body panel but you can probably flatten that part out and hit it w some black primer to hide it and protect it. Looks like the slider took a good hit and saved a lot worse damage. Is it still against the bed or did it settle back to original position?

Not saying it shouldn’t have contacted body, just saying it looks like it could’ve been way worse.

This is what did it (time code 4sec and 8th minute in the video), and you could see that the slider bent pretty good. and Yes, it would have been way worse.

Agree, not sure if any other sliders would have done better or worse under the same kind of impact. posted the video of how it happened above.
