So I currently have a Hayden 679 trans cooler. It’s rated in GVW rating, 30k. Most trans coolers are. I did find the Tru Cool 40k with both BTU and GVW. GVW of 40k and BTU of 45k. I am going to switch to a Setrab 20 row. It’s listed as BTU. Now the Setrab also has different BTU rating for different fluids. The 20 row shows 35-50k for engine oil and 16.5-29.5k for trans oil. Does anyone know why more btu for engine oil vs trans fluid?

I have the Hayden and never see my trans temp above 204F pulling anything including a 26 foot rv, 5klb boat, along gulf coast in 95F heat. Trans temp is set at 195f so that the best you can do, with no towing i never see 196.

I have no complaints with the Hayden. It keeps my temps at 190-192*. Only reason I am changing it is because I like the clean install look of the Setrab.
