Tundra Tunes?

So we all drive these trucks that are made in Texas. Where are the Country songs about riding in your Tundra? WTF?
You got guys driving their old Chevy cause they ain't makin new old trucks.
Guy is selling his F150 for 7500 OBO because it smells like his ex girlfriend.
Girl singing about an F150 pickin up any girl but her anymore.

Come on Nashville! Tundras are from Texas! The others are from Mexico I believe!

 

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. There’s even a song with a 4Runner he bought his ex when things were good and Blue Tacoma but nothing with a Tundra in the lyrics.

 

I’ll stick to older country music with no tundra than listen to this new stuff if they say tundra. Just my opinion of course

Country music used to be good. It used to be about the American dream. Running away from cops, drinking whiskey, riding horses, shootouts with cops or bad guys. Now its all bootlicking liberal bs.

 

The songs also used to be sung by average Joes from the country - not a bunch of rich city boys singing corporate pop while pretending to be country. Jerry Reed would never make it in Nashville today.

Now I mainly listen to Texas Country. The stuff on the radio is pure pop garbage

You should check ot Shania Twain dude. ONJ was easy on the eyes and had a great voice. ST much hotter. I am sure there are some more recent hotties but one step at a time. Lol

 

Grew up listening to Jerry Reed, C.W. McCall, The Statler Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tom T. Hall, and so on. So yeah, I like the old stuff.

I like a lot of different music. I can do Zeppelin/Sabbath to John Mellencamp to Metallica, then turn on bluegrass and drift back to George Strait. I think the giant pipe organ that takes up the entire wall of the Sanctuary at my wife's church sounds awesome. String bands, brass bands, and orchestras can turn out some amazing pieces. I can spend hours on youtube going down rabbit holes of unique artists - sometimes I find stuff that's pretty good.

 

Saw the Troubadours a few years ago in San Angelo. They put on a good show for the small stage. Also saw William Clark Green out there a different year.

Twangy voices with catch-all pandering lyrics, it is shit.
If I hear that 'God, Your Mama, and me ' song again, I'm going to slam my head into a wall.
