and it was absolutely awesome. It drove well on the highway, twisties and offroad. It was comfortable and, at 6'3", I was surprised how much room I had in it. It somehow swallowed five of us, plus gear. I've liked these things since I was a kid, but never had a chance or reason to drive one.

Did it have KDSS? That might be why it was solid in the twisties. They put big sway bars on the ones with KDSS so they are really stiff on the road but then they disconnect offroad so that it articulates really well.

My GX460 is on the same chassis as the 5th gen 4runner and has KDSS and corners really flat for a tall, overweight SUV

    Those pics look like Utah

We just picked up a '22 TRD Sport (the 'soccer mom' version lol). Despite the 20 inch rims and all that, we still love it. It doesn't have KDSS but does have the X-REAS, I think it's called. All I know is that it corners fantastically.

I almost had to force my wife to test drive one after owning two Highlanders. She was sure she did not need a 4Runner...UNTIL she drove one for about 20 minutes. After that she was sold. We've had it for 2 months and she's deliriously in love with all things 4Runner. She's discovered, much like the Tundra, that once you own a 4Runner, you're not just an owner...you're a member of a community.

She came to me the other day and said "When you're driving around, do you find yourself parking next to other Tundra owners?" Yes dear.

I'm not sure about KDSS and didn't have a chance to look in all the traveling. I wondered if it might have, but thought that was a GX thing. I don't know much about 4Runners.

Edit to add: I'm in a brand new Heep Gladiator now and really miss the 4Runner.
