Moving to Oregon has left me, for the first time, kinda concerned what people think about me for just that reason!

I've, more than once, caught myself doing just that while on the phone w/someone from out of state. 'no really... I need to explain this to you...'

 

Onto the championship for the boys team. 14-1 in the semifinal game. My son pitched 4 innings, one run and 8 strikeouts. Went Ofer at the plate with two walks.

We finished our all star games this weekend. We have a fresh group of girls (5-almost 7 year olds). The teams we played had girls that played together and were all older and bigger. It was a great experience and loved watching my lil bit learn n grow! She wants to play next year, but not as catcher. She doesn't like all the gear haha. Not to mention it's too big on her since she's got such a small frame.
Good thing I had glasses on this weekend, cuz I kept getting something in my eyes

Probably should have posted this on a Friday or Saturday night for maximum exposure.
But these posts of dads and daughters got to me.

Ok, I love you guys and I'll put this out there..
All I can say is, be glad your girls are into playing team sports.
My daughter was into the drill team and later on the band flag corps in high school.

A few of us Dads dressed up on the night of one of their competitions.
This was 2004 when she was 10 years old...



They won from what I remember..



This was a few weeks ago for Father's day.
28 year old daughter and 31-year-old son.
They grow up WAY TOO FAST..



If you ever get an opportunity to take your daughters to a Daddy-Daughter dance, do it.
They will never forget it.
We went to 4 of them and she still talks about it at 28 years old...

 

I'd hit that.

one of the things i told my daughter the night of her last game as i was putting her to bed was that i was so proud of her and i will always remember the time we had together and getting to spend that time getting closer to her. not sure as a 6 year old that she FULLY understands it, but i'd rather say it and her not fully understand than assume she wouldn't and never say it.
being a dad is THE most rewarding things i've done.

 

this is great! those are some big milestone changes too.
i do and don't look forward to walking my girls down the aisle

Haha... So much truth.

I felt the same way. Soooo many different emotions that day. In the end you'll love it though. And, you get a new Son out of the deal!

 

I remember the look on my FIL’s face at our wedding. He didn’t want to let go of her hand. And knowing me, I understand why. Not my fault his daughter has bad taste though.
