I like the grille if the truck has a custom bumper on it that breaks up that big blob look. I hate the lines in the outside fenders of the bed. It makes the truck look like a wannabe GMC. I love the interior but I am not a fan of the V6 with the twin turbos. I don't care about gas mileage, obviously. I am not sold on the hybrid technology. It makes the electrical technology vehicle much more complicated and more prone to component failure and dependent on the chip market to correct those failures. I am not a fan of the ground clearance. The 2021 Tundra has almost 2 inches more ground clearance. I do love the camera system on the new 2022 Tundra and the sound system is better than the old sound system. I am not overwhelmed with the JBL system in my truck. It's just barely okay. That might be the next upgrade that I do on my truck. It's tempting to go with the new truck but I will keep my old truck. I have done a ton of work on it and I can put a header system on it from Dirty Deeds and be where I want to be for horse power.

Harsh. I could change your mind if I had the camera and makeup and location.

Not harsh at all if you have read some of my other posts here. Are you a makeup artist of some sort?

They need to recall all of them for that gaping hole in the front end.

I pass one every morning thats parked at a gym a couple buildings down from my work. Every single morning, for few months I out loud go ‘bleck!’ as I pass it. Not a fan. Ive seen a fully blacked out one without the hulk hogan ‘stache and it was tolerable. To each their own though, my sister thinks my 2.5 gen is hideous. Whatever tickles your pickle.

Agreed. Some of the prototype photos of the new Tacoma look similar from what I can tell. I hope they don't cosmetically ruin the next 4Runner.

I think some of the vehicles in Lexus F line look awesome. I almost got the F Sport NX300 for the wife but the bucket seats was a deal killer, too tight. So she got the regular NX. But if you notice Toyota has been changing over to the big grills. Rav4, Tacoma, Camary, Etc and pretty much the whole Lexus line. And don't get me started on the Rav4. What was Toyota thinking when they brought out the TRD Off-road version. And to top it off, it cost more than a TRD Tacoma. Who's behind the wheel over there?

Buying strictly on looks the ES is not what I would get. But we had a 2013 and I was happy she wanted another ES. Nothing exciting but super solid dependable, comfortable, economical and outstanding service. She takes it in for service and they just give her a model she wants to drive. They don't even ask you to fill up the tank when you bring it back. Naturally that service is built into the car price. But the Avalon is a comparable cost.

That would be ashamed. I have not seen any photos of potential future Tacoma. I think my son’s ‘21 Tacoma is a very nice looking mid size truck.

Not all the redesigns have the massive grille. The wife absolutely loves the redesigned Highlander. She picked it over a Lexus.

I like the look of the current Tacomas but they've already incorporated some of the features you guys don't like about the 3rd Gen Tundra such as the bumper you can't step on.

Back on topic of the looks of the 2022 Tundra.

1.) It needs more chrome on all trim levels. For example the A pillar should be chrome, all the mustaches should be chrome as standard, the door handles and window trim should be chrome too. Oh and the gas cap, make it chrome.

2.) I love the mustache, just wish it was larger. I want to have an option for the mustache to be gold plated. That way I can drive around with a truck that looks like Hulk Hogan’s face back in the day. You get the option of Hulk in his prime (gold) or Hulk old and washed up (chrome).

3.) Everything else is pretty much perfect, and looks about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000% better than the 2.5 Gen Tundra. The 2.5 Gen looks like it has a mild case of retardation.

Yes, I think the 2022 is a good looking truck. I like that Toyota sharpened the features without going to the ultra-boxy look Chevrolet trucks had a few years ago.

Not sure why the front is so polarizing. All full size trucks now have massive walls for front ends. I love the appearance and locations of the 2022’s headlights and fog lights. It’s an improvement over the “we’re shoving the headlights to the side of the truck” look of my old 2015. If the “mustache” is body colored, I think the new Tundra is up there with Ford as the best looking ”front end” on the market, and it’s certainly better than the massive, unorganized stretch knot on the front of most Silverados and Sierras.

I supercharged mine (for less than the new truck investment) so I’d never have to look at that fugly 3rd gen tailgate if I don’t want to. Don’t worry though, my tailgate looks really nice.

I think that for most that dislike the front, including myself, it is the “mustache” that is the polarizing element. Especially the non color matched and especially how it “bulges” out as it curves around the bumper. Get rid of the bulge out trim and color match it and the front end looks more natural.

    Probably.

How about a Hulk Hogan edition in yellow and red tiger stripe with a gold mustache grille?

Panties would just fly off at the sight of it!

The grill is just too wide. If the grille were 6 inches narrower and the headlights on each side 3 inch wider, it would look slick

Not all, correct. The new Highlander is nice. You could easily mistake it for a Lexus.
