I have a 2013 tundra dbl cab, I'm trying to install a drive monitor switch. Only thing that works on the switch is the temp button. I read about a 2 wire fix, so I got the dash apart and found the connections I need to wire it up. This setup is different than the ones I've seen on videos. Here's what I'm looking at. Gauge cluster connector, and a plug that it fits into.

So how does one wire this setup to work for the drive monitor switch?

I'm having problems locating the J28 plug, there is a box with a lot of connectors plugged into it and on the left side of the box is a connector that might be the J28 connector. The J1 and the J28 are not connected to each other. The J1 is plugged into a dummy connector as pictured above.

The J28 plug is the large rectangular one that plugs into the back of the instrument cluster. All you need is that one, the JL1 junction connector and the info button connector.

This is turning into a nightmare. The plug I have circled is the only rectangular I can see in there. All the plugs are plugged into a junction box of some sort. The JL1 plug is plugged into a dummy plug and snaps into an opening on the side of the junction box. All I've seen about this mod no one has this set up with this junction box. I've trying to get that rectangular plug out and it is a nightmare, no room to work in that spot, I need to get it it out to have a closer look at it. All the threads that I've read about this shows the J28 plug plugged into the JL1 plug, If I ever get that plug out I can see if they match up to be connected. No sure what functions I will lose once I get it unplugged from that junction box.

Ok first off step back and take a breath. You are not understanding this in the bigger picture. The plug you circled above is completely wrong and has nothing to do with the info buttons. You are looking and wokring in the wrong spots. I would sugesst taking a break before you mess somthing up worse.

I will get some diagrams to layout which connecotrs and where they are that you need to use. Until you really understand what you are looking for and where it is, you are just dangerously guessing and could really mess somthing up.

The plug you circled above in red is for the flasher relay. Do not unplug it. I would put everything you have undone back together and start over. This information should help you identify the connectors you are looking for.

As I mentioned above you have mislablled and are looking/wokring with the wrong connecotors.

You need the JL1 Junction connector. The photos you posted at the top of the grey plug with the terminating cap are NOT JL1.
JL1 will be located where this diagram (below) shows it. It is white in color, not grey and it will be two connectors plugged into each other. Not just a cap.

The second connector you need is the J28, which as I stated above is pluged into the back of the insturment cluster/gagues. You have to fully remove the trim and gague cluster to get to it. It will be white in color and will physical snap out of the back of the gague cluster. It is also shown in the diagram below.

Thank you so much for your help, indeed I know not what I am doing. After reading and seeing this I've decided that I can do without.
