Stop Sale?

Was just about to pick up my new truck when the dealer called to tell me that theres now a stop sale because of axle bolt problems? Come on now… I just want my damn truck.

 

Yep, Toyota just issued a recall on that. They would need to address it on any impacted trucks before sale.

 

I feel for you man. ETA for delivery on mine is today through Tuesday and it will likely be delayed now.

Unless stop sales are kuul on a new truck that you've been waiting for.....among the other known issues....
This new tunny roll out is not impressive to say the least. Underwhelming is being kind.....

 

They literally designed and built this truck from the ground up. Stuff is gunna be wrong.

 

Yota prolly should have waited a tad longer and did a bit more testing...but that's just my 2 cents....

 

Another 5 years and they would have nailed it

 

In all fairness...times suck right now. Not improving anytime soon either. Yota will get things right. Still sucks tho....

 

Oh yeah. It’s for the best. Doesn’t make it any less frustrating when you’ve been waiting months. Especially when you’re trying to time everything as well as possible and sold your old ride last weekend….

BTW, it would appear not all Tundras are affected by this recall. You can check your VIN at both https://www.toyota.com/recall and https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls even if you haven't taken delivery yet. I checked mine and it is not affected.

 

Has anyone that is awaiting delivery of their Tundra received a timeline for how long this delay will hinder delivery date?

 

Not yet. But looks my VIN is affected… awesome…

Pretty sure we predicted these "first year problems" starting back in...2019 or so?

 

Not hard to do. Any vehicle all new from the ground up will have issues.

Man this Sucks…just about to leave on a trip tomorrow so there goes that with the truck.

Lucky for me it wasn’t one where the truck was “Needed” and blessed to have another vehicle to make the trip in.

 

Just checked, looks like mine falls under recall… of course it comes out the day after I was already at the dealership…

 

Its hilarious that they even call it the 2.5 gen cause it got new headlights.

Meanwhile Ford calls the 2015-2020 F150 the 13th gen and 2 years into that the powertrain got completely updated with the 10 speed and a new generation of all three engines, a facelift, and revised frame for increased towing, updated infotainment, etc etc. But its all still one gen.

Look new vehicles have issues but this many on something that was delayed repeatedly through its development process is disappointing, as you’d think the extra time would translate into fewer first year problems.

 

I was raised a Ford guy but in my early 20s they let me down hard and switched over to nothing but Toyo. I have owned about 12-15 Toyos and they all have been solid. So yes the 22 Tundra is a little bit of a head scratcher but man my f150, ram and Silverado buddies have gone through far worst.

My close friend who is a member on here bought a 2021 Ford Raptor built in February 22 by the time he picked it up in late March at a dealer that was out of state and drove it home it had 11 yes 11 recalls. Everyone talks about the Ford Bronco recalls concerning the hard top and the delays which are still happening however they also had a MAJOR recall on the 2.7 engines with bad valve bodies causing the engines to blow up. This latest recall on the Tundra has already been discussed and it just having the dealer tighten a few bolts not as catastrophic as people are making it out to be.
