    Rentals with full kitchens always have crappy dull knives. I bring a chefs knife and a paring knife with me when I travel.

    I have a group of friends I go glamping with about 4 times a year, and we're always in fully furnished cabins or airbnb's. I've had the urge to take some sharpening stones and go at all the knives that never get attention. Maybe even my electric sharpener would be good enough. But I bring my own knives too (cheap ones, in case I forget them...).

    I have a few knives but my two favorites are my Benchmade Griptillian which is a workhorse and pretty much stays with me everywhere I go. And a custom made knife I take with me when I'm in the mountains, camping or hunting.

    Thanks! It was made by a place called McKenna blades. I don't think he makes knives anymore which kind of makes me appreciate this a little more. Plus it's the sharpest freaking thing I've ever owned!

    Ray, this is a very nice knife. I'm starting to appreciate the wharnie blades more and this is one of my favorites. It is a Vero Axon and this one has the brass scales, M390 steel, running on bearings and DLC coating. Right at 8" OAL and 6+ oz.... it is not a small knife. The scales give this thing heft. The scales look slick, but the ergos are so good that grip on the knife is outstanding.
