I really liked my Silverado and loved my Tahoe before. Just wanted to give Toyota shot because of the reliability reputation. Turns out I have been to the dealer more in the last three months than I ever did with any GM vehicle. Go figure. Still pretty happy with it overall

Love the exterior, don't care for the interior ( smaller, looks like less head room and mandatory big center console and shifter). No center seat option.

And really hate the price increase especially for the pros

Yeah, as you’ve discovered the reliability reputation was built and earned by the previous “ugly” generations, which unfortunately have nothing in common with the 3rd gen.

Let’s hope not. We will see what the future holds…. I wanted previous gen quality and reliability with the new looks.

Love it…had to grow on me though…but that was also the case with my second gen

Out the box it looks like it skipped leg day and couldn’t decide which makeup and accessories to wear

With a few mods I am happy, now I just got to deal with this latest recall which has put a kink in my immediate plans…but such is life sometimes.

    Interesting.

I love my FGT RC but the front end, 20 years later, well, it’s rather curvy. I wouldn’t mind a more aggressive look. But I love the clean lines and forward visibility. Mostly I love the manageable size and good specs w v8.

I rather like the hood & fender lines of the 2G. Looks more like a truck.

So far I’m not in love with 3G but trying to warm up to it. Not there yet but some design cues I dig. Just can’t get into the massive front grille. Maybe because I have kids and a dog and I’m scared to death of running over something. Front cameras do help.

It’s actually got more headroom. Seats adjust far better than the prior gen.

I've seen a few on the road and at the dealership.
Not a fan, but I'm sure it will grow on me as Toyota works the kinks out.

The sports trim color match is the ONLY way I could buy one.
Matching paint front end and rear bumper inserts.
Also has to have leather, heated, and adjustable front seats on both sides.
    Really my biggest needs.

Plan to keep my 2014 for 7 to 8 more years.
Should give Toyota enough time to work the issues out of the Gen 3 and I'll be able to find a lightly used one that is 1 or 2 years old with low mileage..

I’ve seen several. If it does not have the chrome mustache, they look very good. If they have it, they are fugly as all heck to my eye.

For those hating on the looks of the second gen, I agree. I think it looks bulbous and weird from certain angles. But the shape and styling are at least highly functional. A very short, sloping front end and tight turning make for confident visibility and maneuverability that belies its size. The somewhat bulbous exterior encases a very spacious, ergonomic interior with giant tactile knobs and buttons. You can feel your way around all of the controls without taking your eyes off the road. I like the honesty of the 2nd gen—every part of it feels purposeful. The 3rd gen, like all new trucks, just seems like they went a bit overboard with aggressive styling. A longer front end, decreased visibility, and tighter interior aren’t exactly exciting.

This is the first Tundra I would consider owning. Personally, I really dislike the look of the previous generations. They just look antiquated to me. Now, I wish I could have the best of both worlds, the new look and old reliability; can't have it all I suppose.

For what it's worth, more times than not when I'm filling up, someone will say something about how good the truck looks. I think the primary people who dislike it are the die-hard previous generation owners. Toyota definitely pulled in new customers with the re-design.

If everyone liked the same thing, life would be pretty boring wouldn't it? Love my 2.5, but that's just me and my awesome 5.7 MGM truck talking.

Absolutely ....unless everyone liked what I did, that wouldn't be boring lol:cheers: I don't troll here busting on issues where I don't have a dog in the fight. I was just answering the OPs question. I have grown so weary of the gen 3 trolls, I don't want to come across at all like these douche bags.

Toyota marketing isn't stupid. That's not how you get to be the largest selling auto manufacturer in the world.

It's clear enough reading this thread and new Tundra promotions that Toyota understands that styling and portraying a lifestyle is probably the highest priority for today's truck purchasers.

That's not a good thing for those of us that consider it last on the list. If it even makes the list.

I don't like the way the 22 tundra looks. That's why I have only have 2 on my driveway.

I've gotten compliments everywhere I go with my 2022 tundra. Gas stations, barber, border crossing police, restaurants. And when they see the 14" radio display too, they are in awe.

I’ve had the opportunity to examine the new ‘22 Tundra a few times now without a salesman overshadowing me. Concerning looks and appearance, I think it has potential, however the front end is hideous and destroys the look. The pic floating around of the rumored future Tundra has a much better front end. Also the pictures of the color match grille and aftermarket bumper along with a lift and bigger tires significantly helps the appearance.

what really gets me on the new Tundra is the insane price being charged. The ‘22 Plat trim is over 20k more that what I paid for my ‘17 out the door. Plus those paying that price for a Capstone is messed up.
