So my fan has been making noise like there are leaves or sticks in there. I took the fan out and the sounds is coming from the fan gear box. Also moving between the six fan speeds, there are several notches that make no change in speed. My understanding is this control is housed in the blower housing so changing the blower should correct this as well.

I'm seeing a wide range of price and brands for a replacement. From $65 to $130. Are any better than others?

I replaced mine on my first gen a couple years ago and the OEM Denso motor was cheaper than most aftermarket.

Replaced mine with a Carquest branded one. Lifetime warranty was good enough for me. Also easy enough to replace if i needed to replace it again.

If it were me I would stick to OEM. Easy enough job but why risk it time is money. Good luck
