2020 Chip Malfuction?

Howdy,

Driving home suddenly almost every safety feature went into alarm or trouble status. Taul/Haul, cruise, adaptive cruise, crash avoidance, brake start, cross traffic alert, blind spot...

Once home, it did restart...but all failures remained in place.

Chip? Fuse(s)?

First thoughts before schlepping over to the dealer.

Battery would be my guess .

 

Does your ABS and 4 wheel drive system still work?

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! The first thing I would do is disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes. then reconnect it, making sure all electrical connections were tight. If that didn't work, I would start looking for signs of mice. Then I would let the dealer figure it out under warranty.

 

Rodents is my guess.

 

That would suck. My gut feeling is the mice didn't read the warranty exclusion for rodents eating delicious Toyota soy flavored wiring.

 

. I think a good comprehensive plan will cover it.

I wonder if Victor makes a trap small enough for mice yet large enough for Cat theives?

 

Okay, so update. Dealer was thinking battery too. Then everything started working again in route to dealer. So...it's the old it make this noise thingy. They read the truck reports captured and said, hmmm...we don't know. LOL Bring it in when the lights are still on. O...K...A...Y Photo of Christmas tree dashboard wasn't any help. So, thanks to y'all I will watch battery and look for mice.

On a side note, they did mention that once in a while the wiring gets jacked up when your Cats are stolen. Mine were in Feb 2022. 10 week back order. It was an ordeal. So we will watch that too.
