I'm not sure who the overland boys are, but, I'm not underground yet, so I may be one. Regardless, I love that my girls were thinking of me, and I love them.

That was back in April when the hardline to the caliper snapped on a forest road and lost brakes. I was with Des2Mtn so now our DCs are even more alike.

Ditto, I LOL'd when I saw that. Daughter was next to me wondering why I'm laughing. Couldn't really explain, just had to tell her I'd damn sure take care of business if someone crossed certain lines.

Hangar over here. Apparently a butcher in town gets wagyu hangar? Who knew. I got stuck prep (marinade) and cooking, everyone else benefits. But it was fork tender, and I've got the two smallest slabs for lunch today. Camera always deceiving on doneness, so tossing in that last close-up, perfect mid-rare all the way thru IMHO.

    Lemme learn ya a secret.
If you don’t like to clean wheels, get ugly wheels. They don’t look much worse when dirty.

I've seen this rim style, with the double-band out to the edge of a black inner, multiple times on our trucks. It almost feels as if someone was running a special on these at one point 10 years ago and a bunch of 2nd/3rd owners jumped all over it to 'refresh' their dated ride.

Where the hell did they even come from? I'm assuming driving on those is like riding a slot car around?

I found an out of stock listing on discunt tired’s website. someone spent good money on these. Very tedious to clean.

must’ve been a Houston rockets fan.

my bad, thought the rockets had an H on their logo.

When my buddy asked me to hold onto em, I didn’t think they’d be so big, and I could rock em while having my wheels plated. Said they came off a 1st gen sequoia. Didn’t say it had a 3” lift.

Nope. This lapse in taste was totally 1st gen. 2nd and turd gens have 5 lugs. A good change in the new “3rd” gen was, they’ve gone back to 6 lugs.

    I probably wasn't clear. I literally meant 2nd & 3rd owners of a 1st gen truck. Like, I'm 3rd owner of my truck.

I've noticed a pattern with some folks. They get a "new" used vehicle, 6-10 years after that vehicle's actual build date, after a generation or two has passed, they'll do things like replace wheels with something wild or gaudy or flashy to give it "new" life. I feel like those wheels were a popular budget choice for the 1st gens.

Yeah I spent more time thinking about who owned the truck before me rather than the truck itself.

That’s a possibility. It would depend on when and how capable I need to be at the time, like terrain-wise. Truck is a work in progress. I’ve got a list of things I wanted to try and get done before sept. and maybe join in on the San G fun. Wouldn’t be bad to do a shakedown before then, but I wouldn’t want to slow you guys down either so…… if it’s not obvious, I’m unfamiliar with cleghorn.
P.S.A. - It shall be noted that this AC truck is on a private trailer, and did not require a distress call for help from a roadside assistance outfit. This is not a valid mark against the AC model and will not be submitted to the AC vs. DC archives
Those are begging for a 12” lift and some paddles

If the Tundra happens to make it to San G, you guys can see what the 5 year work in progress is like. Hah! Heading to Deaver today to try to get the ball rolling on the squatty potty truck problem.

I know someone who wishes their alcans had been spec’d @ 500lbs overload instead of 200lbs. Probably better to err a bit to the heavy side. Unless you run it $10/gas at a time.

I went so far as to look mine up, just to see what they did for a living, just to get a gauge on what the truck was used for, why it had so few miles, what kind of roads it would've been driven on, etc.

Super fuzzy on the 2nd owner. They didn't have it very long. 1st owner, got a good lock on.

I haven’t been able to find anything about the previous owner of the white buell. Except he got a couple tickets on it. PO of the yellow bike is a fb friend, and genuine motorcycle enthusiast.

I found a registration slip from when the truck was 3 years old under the center console when I pulled it while doing my USB port add-on. It just so happens the same guy's business card in a brochure for the bank he worked at were in the passenger seat-back pocket - not sure how the 2nd owner and the dealership missed that one, but the dealership's cleaning crew was a friggin joke.

I had the 2nd owner's info, it was in a public records search I did on the truck. But other than an address ... not much to it.

My ‘05 Taco’s PO used it to haul laundry. Owned a couple dozen properties and managed about 100 total.

but then again he was 2nd owner and I basically paid sticker 17 years after the fact.

This Tundra sadly drives nicer with the stock pack. Hoping Deaver comes through on the second attempt. Rubbing up front with the 32’s and need to get the nose higher once the ass is off the ground.

Just dropped the shocks off at King. Time for a complete rebuild, extended travel conversion, and swapping out to 700lb coils.
