I was curious as to if anyone knows how much the factory steel front bumper weighs on my 2001 Tundra. I'm just pondering the idea of putting a Coastal Offroad bumper on it, or some other aftermarket one, as both my front and rear steel bumpers are both dented, pretty trashed, and all rusted and corroded on the interior, so I have a feeling I'll be replacing them one day anyway.

I was going to just try to replace them with the same OEM style bumpers but figured I could spend 300$ on a "factory" one, or make the 600$ investment on the bumper I'd actually like and then I could finally put a winch on the rig and not be so fearful about the places I go.

I was just worried about how a different style bumper would affect the vehicle as it would weigh either more or less in comparison, and therefore affect MPG(which isn't great to start with) and the suspension to a certain degree.

I know the rear steel bumper and supports weight right about 90-100lbs

@FirstGenVol might have weighed his stock bumper after removal.

Our plastic bumpers weigh nothing. The earlier years steel bumpers must be heavier. @Tundra2 helped install, he might remember.

    It's good
I had a bumper cover (plastic) and the sheet metal bumper behind it. Didn't weigh shit. The Coastal does weigh 100 lbs before you add stuff to it. It's wasn't a big deal on my DC until I combined a winch. But I had already gone from #650 to #700 springs by then.

Oh that’s right, but I’m sure the crush bar and other components at least weight 50lbs or so?

I'll be putting on 885 springs from OME which hopefully will make up for the added weight.

I think you will be fine. However, for anyone listening, my experience has been I had no idea what I would be doing a year after I bought Kings (because that's all that was available at the time). I've adjusted those things 20 times to suit my needs in the last year. There is a lot to be said for adjustability. I may go to #750 springs, but it will still be adjustable. I'm in a DC.

I didn't weigh mine but I was shocked at how light it was. It was a lot lighter than it looks. 40-50lbs tops is my guess.
